Dell Medical School Work Study Student Assistant Position Description
The Dell Medical School is seeking a student assistant to join the Office of Development. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about philanthropy, prospect research, donor relations, and healthcare in a high-profile, dynamic, and energetic setting. Please note: The Dell Medical School Office of Development is located off-campus at the Dell Pediatric Research Institute. Candidates must have reliable transportation to and from DPRI as bus routes are limited.
Term:
-Fall 2015 semester, with potential for a spring 2016 appointment upon further review.
-Availability for 10-12 hours, Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm.
Reports To: Development Specialist
Duties:
-Assist major gift officers with donor prospecting research, in addition to data entry and analysis for donor groups using Microsoft Excel and university databases.
-Perform various clerical duties such as filing, copying, running errands, answering the telephone, and greeting visitors.
-Additional duties as assigned, including projects related to benchmarking research, donor relations, and special events.
Skills/Qualifications:
-Professional demeanor with excellent oral and written communication.
-Ability to process, organize, and make conclusions about large data sets. Demonstrated experience with data analysis and Microsoft Excel is required.
-Ability and commitment to successfully manage confidential records, both paper and electronic.
-Possess sound judgment, excellent attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
-Responsible and dependable, managing work time effectively and completing projects with accuracy.
-Experience with word processing, computer data entry, and filing.
-Interest in healthcare, philanthropy, donor relations, and communications.
