Professor Seeking Classical Music Marketing Assistant

Professor Bruce Pennycook in the School of Music is seeking a student with experience/interests in business and marketing for a part-time position.

This part-time position is for a person with marketing skills with print and on-line materials. The assistant will help Prof. Pennycook with distribution and marketing of selected musical compositions and other works. The assistant will help to identify, contact then follow through with communications to appropriate conductors and ensemble managers in the US and Canada. Terms and compensation to be determined.

Internship Opportunities with Forklift Danceworks

Forklift Danceworks has had two BDP interns in the past one focusing on Arts & Business and recently one on Children’s Health.  They are excited to have another Bridging Disciplines intern sometime this year. Below are some of the opportunities currently available, though they would be glad to customize something based on the student’s course of study.

Forklift Danceworks Internship Positions

Creative Movement Assistant Teaching Artist            1-3 hours/week

Observe, participate and assist in teaching Leaps and Bounds creative movement classes; assist with photo, video and lesson documentation of classes

Creative Movement Admin Assistant                8-10 hours/week

Provide administrative support for Leaps and Bounds creative movement classes; assist with scheduling, documentation, reporting and other tasks as needed

Body Shift intern                                                      5-10 hours/week

Assist with mixed-ability dance program (monthly class and special projects in dance improvisation for people with and without disabilities), assist with documentation, reporting, social media, PR, email and other tasks as needed.

Communications & PR intern                               5-10 hours/week

Assist with marketing, PR, social media, newsletter and blog as needed.

Donor Management intern                                                8-10 hours/week

Assist our Managing Director and Development Specialist with processing donations, thank you letters, and database management, check PO box and filing

Video Camera intern                                                          TBD

Capture video at various Forklift Danceworks events, classes, performances, etc; deliver to Video Manager, editing assignments and full video projects optional

Assistant to Artistic Staff                          12-15 hours a week, full year preferred

Work directly with our choreographers on various projects, update website, filing, and administrative duties as needed.

Production Rehearsal and Admin Assistant     10-20 hours a week

During production, assist with rehearsals and administrative duties in preparation for rehearsals, tech week and production. More hours possible during final weeks of rehearsal, tech week and post-production. (Nov-Feb 2016)

Internship hourly schedules can be adjusted to fit school requirements for college credit.

Internship with the Pollyanna Theatre Company

Pollyanna is always looking for talented, creative, and dedicated people who are interested in learning more about careers in the arts, to serve as Production Interns with our company. Pollyanna regularly hosts interns in all areas of the theatre, from technical theatre to arts administration. These internships are created to meet the needs of the intern. While we particularly need interns during the summer months, internship opportunities are offered throughout the year. Interns receive an honorarium for their work with us as well as valuable production and administrative experience. Pollyanna could not exist without the work of our interns and we believe that the training we provide is a valuable part of an intern’s theatre and/or arts administration training.

ABOUT POLLYANNA’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Pollyanna offers paid internships in the fall, spring, and summer semesters for students seeking course credit or experience in cultural arts or nonprofit organizations. We offer opportunities in the following areas:
