State of Texas Alliance for Recycling – Spring Internship

We are the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR), a 501(c)3 nonprofit headquartered in the Austin area. We are committed to our mission of increasing recycling rates in Texas, for Texans. We have around 300 members, a Board of Directors, affiliated topical and regional working groups, and partnerships at the national level.
Job information:
The State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) is looking for individuals eager for nonprofit and program management experience in the Austin area. Our interns handle a range of tasks including:

Program management: working on putting together resources and communication/outreach pieces about STAR programs and priorities, including Master Composter, Summit, Bin Grants, etc

Developing website content as needed
- Research
- Administrative and office duties; data input and management
- Helping out with digital and social media
Skill requirements:
Strong written and verbal communicative skills; detail-oriented, self-starter who is organized and able to meet deadlines; strong research skills; computer skills: Microsoft Word and Excel, basic social media skills.
Job requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in a university and working toward a degree; must be a US citizen; must be located in the Austin area and have reliable transportation and a computer; must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Please note that this position is unpaid but can be used for college credit.
