Special Events Intern
Stipend: Unpaid Internship
Dates of Position: 2 month minimum – 6 months maximum
Time Commitment: Ideal hours are flexible between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Supervisor: Emily Franke, Development Coordinator for Special Events
Job Purpose:
Assist the Development Coordinator for Special Events in all event planning and operational tasks needed to plan and implement successful fundraising events.
Duties:
Strategize with the Development Coordinator to develop details for the events.
Aid in communication with donors and sponsors
Work with the Communications team to develop marketing tools to promote awareness of
upcoming events
Manage and coordinate activities before and during special events
Execute any post event tasks to evaluate success.
Assist in managing high-level volunteers and group projects
Create lists and generate reports for fundraising and event planning purposes
Skills and Experience:
Thorough and detailed expertise with written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft programs specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge of HTML and working in a web environment is a plus
Developed organizational skills and great attention to details
Able to manage multiple activities at one time and work in a fast-paced environment showing self-initiative

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas Position: Donor Database Intern
Stipend: Unpaid Internship
Dates of Position: Fall Semester, Spring Semester
Time Commitment: 3 month or one semester equivalent minimum, 10-20 hrs/wk
Supervisor: Katie Vitale, Donor Database Manager
Job Purpose: Assist Donor Database Manager in aspects of data/information systems management and data analysis. This internship will provide a professional experience for undergraduate and graduate students considering a career in archiving, fundraising, or data management.
Duties:
Support the Development Department in data/information systems management utilizing Blackbaud fundraising software: Raiser’s Edge, Net Community, and Luminate-Team Raiser.
Assist with accurate record keeping including complete donor records, both electronic and paper as needed.
Assist in generating fundraising reports and data analysis.
Assist with all donor acknowledgments; producing letters and coordinating thank-you
correspondence among staff, board and volunteers to ensure all donors are promptly and
appropriately thanked.
Perform additional tasks for the Development Department and the organization.
Skills:
Computer aptitude and knowledge of or experience with databases.
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.
Experience with report generation a plus.
Developed organization and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Position:Communications Intern

Supervisor:Tina Snider, Director of Communications
Job Purpose:Assist the Director of Communications and the Communications Coordinator with online and offline communications strategies including social media planning, collateral development and website maintenance.
Duties:
Assist in marketing communication projects to advance RMHC CTX brand
Assist in managing and drafting social media editorial to promote RMHC CTX brand
Research, analyze and report RMHC CTX analytics and social media metrics
Identify ways to cross promote and share relevant information within social media
platforms
Assist Development Team with communications support for special events
Assists with additional responsibilities as requested
Skills and Experience:
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft programs specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of web platforms
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple activities at one time in a fast-paced work environment
