Annie’s List proudly invests in learning opportunities for young leaders through our internship program. We host several interns each school semester.
We are currently accepting applications for fall 2016 internships through July 25, 2016.
Annie’s List interns have gone on to attend Campaign School, work on the campaigns of our endorsed candidates around the state, join the Annie’s List staff, and work in key positions in the Capitol.
Overall Requirements include:
- Strong interest in promoting women to political power
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- Google Drive familiarity
- Quick to learn
- Flexible Schedule
Annie’s List interns work in one of four areas:
Political interns learn what it takes to recruit, train and support candidates for future office. They will:
- Assist in recruiting attendees for candidate trainings
- Reach out to local elected officials and progressive allies on behalf of Annie’s List
- Learn software pertinent to progressive campaigns (NGP & VAN)
- Conduct political research
- Help with tasks for other departments as needed
Communication interns will learn how a political organization generates a following and communicates with it. They will:
- Assist in tracking press relevant to Annie’s List candidates and issues
- Compile mentions in the press regarding Annie’s List
- Write summaries of experiences to be shared with Annie’s List followers via Twitter, Facebook, and email
- Help with tasks for other departments as needed
Development interns will learn how to generate money for an organization the size of Annie’s List. They will:
- Maintain database and spreadsheets
- Create event materials
- Conduct donor research
- Communicate with Annie’s List donors
- Prepare mailings and solicitations
- Help with tasks for other departments as needed
Training interns will learn how to plan and deliver meaningful programming to support candidates and their staff. They will:
- Help identify strategic training locations and local partners
- Assist in recruiting attendees for candidate trainings
- Draft communication to promote events
- Plan event logistics and contribute to delivery
- Help with tasks for other departments as needed

We will accept applications for Fall 2016 internships through July 25, 2016. However, we will be happy to discuss our program with you at any point in the year.
