Outside the Box Dropout Prevention, a charitable 501(c)(3) formed for the purpose of reducing Austin’s dropout rate, welcomes applicants for intern positions.
Minimum requirements:
Must be currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin An overall GPA of 2.85 or higher
Must be able to commit until the end of the semester project Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct one-to-one tutoring and mentoring to students in grades, K-10
Meet with students, parents and the on-site supervisor to review curriculum, correlate lessons and assignments and discuss successes and challenges
Prepare session activities, monitor and record student progress, assist in the preparation of learning environment, assist parents to complete applications and questionnaires and participate in student recruitment events
Qualifications:
Cohesive team member with the ability to relate to students with various learning styles, academic levels, needs, strengths and weaknesses
Effective interpersonal communication skills, ability to work with diverse groups of people from varying educational, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Excellent organizational skills, completes assignments in a timely manner, patient, reliable, adaptable to a fast-paced work environment

Available Tutoring Times:
Monday – Thursday, 4-7 pm, Friday 4-6 pm
