Unpaid Internship/iACT for Refugees
Two fall interns are needed to implement a mentoring program for refugee youths for an average of 10 to 15 hours a week. The responsibilities include assisting in matching mentors with refugee youths, facilitating meetings with the help of language interpreters and organizing a reporting system for mentors to follow. Most of the work needs to be done afternoons, evenings and some weekends.
Candidates must be exceptionally organized, be able to work independently, have good people skills and be able to be flexible and creative under changing conditions. Cultural competency and understanding are necessary.
This is an opportunity to work with newly arrived refugees from numerous countries around the world and to make a difference in the lives of teenagers with language and cultural barriers helping them to finish high school as a first step to successful lives.

Unpaid Client Services Intern, Fall 2016/Spring 2017
IACT’s Hands on Housing Program is seeking a client services intern for the fall of 2016. The program involves providing needed home repairs to elderly and disabled low income home owners at no cost to them. This position is perfect for a student hoping to learn more about a career in social services and/or non-profits. You will, under the supervision of the Hands on Housing Program Coordinator, support client services and assist in case management. The ideal applicant will be hardworking, independent, and possess strong communication, organization and time-management skills. Previous experience in client services and bilingual Spanish-English are both preferred, but not required.
Fall Schedule: Late August-Early December, 10-15 hours/week
Spring Schedule: Mid January-Early May, 10-15 hours/week
