Job Title: Communication and Media Intern
Purpose of the Position:
● Effectively keep the families of the children involved in the afterschool informed of the events of the month
● Effectively keep our sponsors and involved churches informed of what the Side By Side Kids ministries are doing
● Raise awareness and attract new people to Side By Side Kids through online content
Specific Tasks or Duties:
● Take and collect photographs of kids and volunteers at events
● Compose articles and stories for publications
● Layout and design monthly bulletins and newsletters
● Maintain and update the Side By Side Kids blog weekly with entries, pictures, graphics, etc
● Collaborate with the Community Relations Coordinator on the design and dispersion of development media
● Maintain and update Facebook and Instagram account five times per week
● Discover viable social media platforms for Side by Side Kids
● Strengthen SBSK presence on Twitter and LinkedIn
Skills:
● Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills required
● Ability to construct, compile and condense articles into meaningful summaries
● Creativity with creating content and discovering solutions
● Strong understanding of social media, marketing, and branding
Preferred Qualities
● Christ-follower
● Background in Journalism, Business, Public Relations, or other related discipline
● Skills with photography and videography
● Highly organized
● Self starter
● Written and Spoken knowledge of English and Spanish
Coordinates with or Reports to: Volunteer and Intern Coordinator and Community Relations Coordinator
Time Involvement Required : 10-20 hours per week

Job Title: Development Intern
Purpose of the Position
● Strengthen and support donor relationships
● Effectively keep our sponsors and involved churches informed
● Raise awareness and attract new donors to Side By Side Kids through online content
● Provide support and assistance in the distribution of development materials
● Prepare for upcoming fundraising events
Specific Tasks or Duties:
● Organize and execute high-quality thank-you cards for donors within 1-week of each gift
● Assist in organizing sponsorships for fundraising events
● Compose engaging articles and stories for development publications such as posts, newsletters, blogs and appeals
● Segment and engage with donors on the newsletter list
● Support Social Media Coordinator with development updates for social media each week
● Pick-up development and marketing materials to distribute
Skills & Competencies Needed:
● Good writing and interpersonal communication skills required
● Ability to convey information effectively to our donor community
● Go-getter with an ability to work on projects and tasks independently
● Highly organized with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks
● Strong relationship-builder and story-teller for diverse audiences
● Expert in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Preferred Qualities
● Christ-follower
● Working-knowledge of donor database or administrative organization (ex. Network For Good, Google Drive)
● Background in Fundraising, Administration, Communication or other related discipline
Coordinates with or Reports to: Volunteer and Intern Coordinator and Community Relations Coordinator
Time Involvement Required: 5-15 hours; some weekend and evening hours
