Human Resources Intern
· Human Resources interns work to enhance internal and external communication in order to ensure that every individual who calls or walks through our doors has a positive and engaging experience with the Foundation. Interns are assigned projects that allow them to collaborate cross functionally in a dynamic work environment. Projects may focus on talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards and organizational development. Specific tasks include internship program management, recruitment, interviewing and on-boarding, along with community relations and volunteer management.
Accounting Intern
· Accounting interns assist with expense report reconciliation, budget reporting, and data input. Tasks include building and testing of new reports, maintaining allocation spreadsheets, and researching cross-functional team inquiries. Interns will also have the opportunity to work with accounts payable entries, standardized journal entries, and document retention and management. This internship is ideal for someone in pursuit of Business, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems or a similar focus. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), data reconciliation and a strong attention to detail is required.
Event Fundraising and Promotion
· Event Fundraising and Promotion interns assist event participants in developing successful fundraising plans to support their goals. Tasks include constituent communication, sharing fundraising tactics, fulfilling requests, and rewarding fundraisers with incentives during their campaign. Additionally, interns help Team LIVESTRONG staff as they organize events to engage constituents at all levels. This includes interacting with vendors, sponsors, participants, volunteers and other organizations to grow Team LIVESTRONG awareness, recruit participants and set up in-market activities.
Development Intern
· Development interns assist with projects that support the entire development team as we work to update and maintain accurate constituent records. Interns assist with managing our grants portfolio, creating and running reports for prospect/donor events, data analysis, and conducting basic research on individual, corporate or foundation prospects.
Marketing Communications Intern
· Marketing Communications interns assist with project management, including project initiation, working with the internal creative team and other stakeholders and stewarding the review and approval process. Interns also work with printers and vendors, fulfill internal and external requests for Foundation photos and logos, provide general administrative assistance and manage at least one long-term project.
Digital Marketing Intern
· Digital Marketing interns work within the Foundation’s email and social media marketing campaigns. Interns may be involved in work for the LIVESTRONG Blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media networking sites, alongside working on larger email marketing campaigns, and using analytics tools to inform our digital marketing efforts.
Marketing Production Intern
· Marketing Production interns assist with all ongoing online marketing efforts. This includes but is not limited to: generating weekly and monthly analytics reports, Google AdWords management, A/B testing, front end web development, and web design. The ideal candidate would possess strong communication skills and the ability to think creatively as they address new challenges. Additional computer skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe, etc.) are a plus.
Web Development Intern
· Web Development interns assist the Digital Technology team with online projects by performing basic and intermediate web development tasks, including writing HTML/CSS/JavaScript for web updates, basic content management, and carrying out other web related requests within the CMS. This intern will participate as a member of the Digital Technology team and will work directly with Sr. Web Developer to help insure the timely delivery of web projects for internal and external customers.
Data Analyst Intern
· Data Analyst interns will be involved with tasks that may include but not limited to working in our CRM database to manage data integrity, build queries/reports, and provide ad-hoc tech support to internal staff. They will also assist with tasks related to back end integrations and the monthly accounting reconciliation and close process. This person will participate as a member of the Digital Technology team and will work with the Sr. Data Analyst/Developer to help insure the timely delivery of projects for internal and external customers.
Public Health Intern
· Public Health interns assist with the implementation of Foundation programs as we work to develop a model of care for people affected by cancer that is comprehensive and “patient-centered.” This includes researching and working with healthcare professionals and patients around the country to create a cancer care model that empowers patients and their families and places their needs, preferences, and values first. Responsibilities include: researching organizations and cancer hospitals delivering innovative cancer care practices, communicating with members of the cancer community (academics, researchers, healthcare providers, patients, policy makers, etc.), writing for blogs and professional publications, and assisting with planning and implementation of major symposiums and conferences. This internship is ideal for someone with a strong interest in public health, outstanding organization, research, verbal and written communication skills.
Research and Evaluation Intern
· Research and Evaluation interns help measure the impact of Foundation initiatives. Tasks include data collection, research, and evaluating a wide range of programmatic initiatives. Interns have the opportunity to analyze data and report internally and externally on the outcomes of Foundation initiatives including cancer support services, grant-funded programs, public health and health policy initiatives. Interns must have strong computer skills including Excel and Word and have the ability to do research-type tasks such as analyze data and develop charts and tables to be included in reports. SPSS experience is a plus.
Mission Intern
· Mission interns support the development, implementation, and execution of LIVESTRONG’s strategic mission and objectives. This role may include support in the organization’s delivery of patient-centered services, building and engaging communities of survivors, and leading system change through a variety of programs and initiatives including LIVESTRONGNavigation Services, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes, the LIVESTRONG Leader Program and Advocacy Efforts. Our interns have the opportunity to work with some of the largest nonprofits in the United States such as YMCA of the USA. Additionally, interns may support planning and implementation of events, workshops, and trainings. Ideal candidates should have great communication skills, be highly organized and have the ability to work on multiple projects at once. This is a great position for someone interested in nonprofit management, program creation, community outreach, and grant management.

Requirements
Interns will be paired with a team member for one-on-one mentorship to gain hands-on experience in their area of interest.
Be available to work 12–20 hours per week during regular business hours at LIVESTRONG HQ in Austin, Texas.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of computer competency.
Be self-motivated, organized, willing to help with any project no matter how large or small and be able to balance multiple priorities at once.
Have a strong desire to make a difference, a passion for the LIVESTRONGmission, a positive attitude and an affinity for the color yellow.
Be able to provide their own housing and transportation; mastery of parallel parking is a plus.
