Organization: As the Title X grantee in Texas, Women’s Health and Family Planning Association of Texas (WHFPT), through its provider network, assists individuals in determining the number and spacing of their children. This promotes positive birth outcomes and healthy families. The outreach, education, and clinical services available in Title X funded clinic settings facilitate the achievement of these goals.
Job Summary: The Intern will help with a variety of tasks that may include grant writing, implementing our marketing/public relations strategy planning and executing fundraising events. WHFPT hopes to increase our organizational sustainability and create a sustainable grant writing and fundraising development road map in place with your help.

Responsibilities:
WHFPT is seeking a Development Intern with a strong interest in or prior experience with fundraising, grant writing, and event planning/ execution who can work 15-20 hours per week. Candidates for the position must be creative problem solvers with exceptional interpersonal skills. Employment experience in fundraising, proposal writing or knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies is a plus. Must be familiar with basic computer operations including MS WORD, EXCEL, the Internet, social media, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Help execute WHFPT’s fundraising plan.
2. Perform in-depth research into grant-making organizations.
3. Write grant applications that display meticulous grammar and spelling.
4. Seek financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
5. Utilize Social Media to disseminate WHFPT’s mission and fundraising plan.
6. Assist with other development projects as requested
Key Responsibilities:
Candidates for the position should have experience with or a strong interest in public relations, marketing, event planning, nonprofit development, or related activity. Employment experience or a strong interest in social entrepreneurship, social marketing, health and wellness or early childhood education is preferred. Must be familiar with basic computer operations including MS WORD, EXCEL, and the Internet specifically social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, email clients, etc.
