Job description: An internship at The Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is a prearranged, structured learning experience scheduled within a specific time frame. The experience must be relevant to the intern’s academic and professional goals, and to the research and program activities of The Texas Campaign. An internship is performed under the direct supervision of Texas Campaign staff. The Texas Campaign seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and energetic individual to serve as a Government Relations Intern. The Government Relations Intern will support the policy team in developing advocacy materials, helping to prepare for lobbying activities, assisting with research, representing the Texas Campaign at coalition meetings and briefings, and general administrative duties.
Qualifications:

- The ideal candidate will be currently working toward an undergraduate or advanced degree in government, public administration, public health or related field.

- Exceptional written and communications skills are essential, as well as knowledge of the public policy process and Texas political landscape.

- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to follow-through.

- Must be able to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.

- Personal laptop and cell phone required.

- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle preferred.
Time Commitment: Up to 20 hours per week (paid hourly)
