Internship Title: Side by Side Kids – Afterschool Program Intern
Purpose of the Position: The Afterschool Program Intern is responsible for supporting and further developing the afterschool program through managing special projects and researching and/or developing new program activities.
Responsibilities and Duties Summary:
● Prepare for the upcoming days and/or weeks of afterschool programming
● Process student and program data
● Provide additional support on-campus by helping with homework, leading recreation activities, curriculum, etc.
● Research, develop, and create games, worksheets, and other educational activities for students’ use upon completion of their homework
● Create and prepare curriculum, activities, games, and supplies for summer programming and special events
● Provide additional support for students during special program weeks such as Arts Week, Service Week, Technology Week and Showcase Week
● Assist with curriculum development as needed
● Support Site Coordinators with any of the following administrative tasks: data entry, supply closet maintenance, file organization, shredding, event planning, etc.
● Attend weekly meetings with SBSK staff and Crew Leaders
● Coordinate with other interns, Crew Leaders, volunteers, and staff, as needed
● All other duties assigned
Time Involvement Required: This position is a part-time internship with 10-20 hours per week. Hours will flex to accommodate some morning, evening, and weekend activities. The term of this position is for one school semester.
Work Site: The Afterschool Program Intern will report to the SBSK Support Center, the assigned elementary schools, and various sites within the community.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
● Interest in youth and afterschool programming and understanding of its positive impact to the community it serves
● Excellent writing and editing skills
● Excellent interpersonal and relational skills
● Experience using Microsoft Office products and Google Drive
● Excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail
● Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

● Understand, agree with, and be comfortable teaching a Christ-centered curriculum that communicates the Gospel on a daily basis
