Rainforest Partnership is a non-profit organization headquartered in Austin, TX. We work with communities on the ground in South America in order to help them create a sustainable livelihood so they can live in harmony with the rainforests. We host many events throughout the year including SXSW Films for the Forest challenge, Earth Day, World Rainforest Day, and Celebration Event: Amazon in Austin.
Event Coordinator Intern – Fall 2018/Spring 2019/Summer 2019
We are looking for an enthusiastic event planner to coordinate our annual fundraising dinner in October, as well as our SXSW film festival screening in March (if long-term).
Responsibilities:
- Work with in-house event coordinator and manage all project delivery elements within time limits
- Conduct research, gather information and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals
- Organize facilities and manage event’s details including but not limited to decor, catering, entertainment, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material (you will be working with our event coordinator on these)
- Delegate tasks to volunteer committees
- Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot problems on the event day
- Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a related BS or Masters degree
- Previous nonprofit work experience a plus
- Experience as an events planner or organizer
- Sense of responsibility and accountability
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- MS Office/Google Drive proficiency
Graphics & Marketing Intern – Fall 2018/Spring 2019
We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our team and provide creative ideas to achieve our goals. You will work with our Communications Coordinator and develop and implement marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
- Support the team in daily administrative tasks
- Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, email campaigns, and website)
- Help distribute marketing materials
- Help organize marketing aspect of upcoming events
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a related BS or Masters degree
- Previous nonprofit work experience a plus
- Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Drive
- Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, online analytics, Google Adwords, Adobe software)
- Sense of responsibility and accountability
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent time management and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects independently
Outreach & Fundraising Intern – Fall 2018/Spring 2019
We are looking for an enthusiastic outreach & sponsorship intern to join our team and help us reach our fundraising goals. You will work with our CEO and develop relationships and make a big impact in the work we do as an organization. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals that are interested in nonprofit operations and fundraising.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement plans to obtain sponsorships from different organizations
- Seek new sponsors by taking referrals and searching different avenues, such as the web
- Handle negotiations with sponsors and ensure that the agreement that has been reached is the closest to the objective of the plan
- Act as a liaison between sponsors and the company
- Ensure the delivery of agreed sponsor benefits successfully
- Seek in-kind support from different corporations and foundations
- Develop appropriate correspondence such as proposals, thank you letters and program outcome information
- Assists in the development of fundraising goals
Requirements:
