Internships with the Colorado River Alliance

Ready for an internship that’s life-changing? Our work with Central Texas students is laying the foundation for a new generation of environmental stewards and scientists — and we need your help!

Bilingual students (Spanish and English) are welcome to apply, and our Spring 2019 internships will offer a modest stipend of $250 upon successful completion of the internship.

Internships with the Colorado River Alliance are powerful professional development experiences. Interns commit an average of 15 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., M-F. You will typically spend 10 hours teaching in our award-winning environmental education programs for elementary and middle school students, plus an additional 5 hours on special projects related to the Alliance’s educational mission and your interests. Much of our environmental education programming takes place outdoors.

Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish) is preferred, but candidates with Spanish proficiency are also welcome to apply!

Alliance Interns receive comprehensive training, professional development consultations with our staff, and networking and resume-building opportunities. Our internships are suitable for students with a wide range of backgrounds – aspiring scientists, educators, business professionals, athletes, and healthcare workers have all succeeded with us; the key to success is being motivated, organized, and passionate. If you love the idea of teaching groups of kids about the natural world, we want to hear from you.

Students interested in applying for an internship should apply online as soon as possible. (These internships fill quickly.) Those with questions can email me at: brent@coloradoriver.org.

I look forward to reading your cover letter and resume – thanks for your interest in helping us change the world!
