ABA Connect offers a unique opportunity for individuals seeking experience as a trained Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist. During the internship you will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful ABA therapist.
ABA Connects’ Intern’s primary focus will be on learning new behavior analytic skills related to the BACB Third Edition Task List (professional organization key skills). Activities must adhere to the dimensions of applied behavior analysis identified by Baer, Wolf, and Risley (1968). Interns are encouraged to have experiences at the clinic and with different supervisors.
Intern experiences at ABA Connect will involve:
- Observing therapy sessions with multiple clients
- Consulting BCBAs regarding program implementation and behavior analysis interventions
- Observing assessment activities related to the need for behavioral interventions
- Creating materials or stimuli for clients at the request of the BCBA
After at least 1 month of observation, ABA Connect Interns may be given an opportunity to learn the data tracking process from a BCBA. If data tracking is mastered, interns may be given an opportunity to conduct therapy trials under the supervision of a BCBA or senior RBT Therapist. The availability of these opportunities will be determined on a case-by-case basis dependent on the needs and abilities of the Intern.
