Antonelli’s is looking for interns

Marketing and Advertising Internship

About the Organization

Antonelli’s Cheese Shop is a nationally-acclaimed and internationally-recognized artisanal cheese and food business, originally launched and currently operating in Austin, Texas. The Cheese Shop opened its doors in a down economy in 2010, after “mom and pop” owners Kendall and John Antonelli made a honeymoon decision to quit their jobs in pursuit of their passion – working together to support artisanal producers and delicious foods. Today, Antonelli’s Cheese consists of a retail location in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood, offering cut-to-order service and representing hundreds of artisanal producers; an events program hosting over 200 public, private, and corporate tastings per year in their 100-year old Cheese House; an ecommerce site shipping gifts and cheese of the month club memberships nationwide; and a wholesale program sourcing and providing artisanal cheese and foods to over 150 Central Texas chefs and restaurants.

Internship Opportunity

Antonelli’s Cheese has been recognized for its unique voice, marketing tactics, and consistent relevancy in the Austin community and artisanal food industry internationally. Yet to date, everything has been executed primarily by owner Kendall Antonelli. She seeks a marketing intern as a partner to creatively brainstorm and execute new marketing initiatives while maintaining current work, as well as measuring its success. He or she will work directly alongside the owner and gain an understanding not only of how marketing impacts our business but will also gain experience in the world of entrepreneurship, retail, operations, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Create content for all our company social media accounts, including organizing cross-platform content strategies
  • Develop new social media campaigns
  • Monitor social channels for trending news, ideas and memes, then capitalize on those trends through our social media accounts
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns and social media analytics
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
  • Assist in revising and executing our yearly marketing plan
  • Prepare promotional presentations and signage
  • Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
  • Help organize marketing events
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks

Requirements

Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of web and social media. PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is a must. Experience with design software (such as Quark, Adobe, InDesign, etc), online analytics, and google adwords are preferred (but not necessary) and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position.

Commitment

We are flexible with scheduling; however, the intern must work approximately 20 hours weekly with a set schedule that meets both your academic/personal needs as well as the needs of Antonelli’s Cheese. Our commitment to you is that you’ll have weekly meetings with the business owner in which we determine defined goals and measured deliverables; our goal is to collaborate to provide you with meaningful work that’s a benefit to our business.

Application Process

Interested candidates should email kendall@antonellischeese.com why they are interested in the internship, their desired weekly hours and schedule, and attach a resume.

The Final Acts Project is Seeking Interns

Theater, Creative Arts and Humanities Supporting End of Life Education and Planning.

The Final Acts Project believes every individual should have the opportunity to write his or her own life script, including the final act of his or her life. The organization was founded in 2014 and aims to develop and facilitate extended community and professional networks of support, conversation, and action around end-of-life planning. The organization addresses determinants of health outcomes by leveraging volunteers to create and replicate models that can be adapted to meet the needs of specific audiences.

The Final Acts Project uses the arts and humanities to entice and inspire viewers and participants to discuss a scary but important topic – death. With the conversation started in an open, friendly environment, the organization can then get people thinking and planning for their future, right until the very end.

The Final Acts Project is looking for students interested in the following areas for the 2019 winter semester:

1. Data Collection for Transition and Decisions resource database for end of life resources and support in Texas

2. Videographer to collect stories around the importance of advance care planning and thoughts on end of life from all age groups (especially from students)

3. Graphic Artist to design artistic elements for Transitions and Decisions

4. Focus group leaders to support conversations and data collection on the need for Transitions and Decisions – A guided list of questions would be provided

5. IT support is needed for Transitions and Decisions – ability to support data migration: system security; system functionality and work closely with the Project Director.
