Project:
Wellness Study Latinx is a project on Community Youth Mental Health through the University of Texas Dell Medical School focused on Latinx young adults in Central Texas. The projects seeks to assess and better understand the mental health needs of Latinx young adults (including stress, wellbeing and resilience) and their use of services. The information that we gather through online surveys, focus groups and interviews can help us create a sustainable mental health promotion model focused on wellness, stress and resilience that can connect Latinx adults to services and will be useful to better address the needs of Latinx young adults in Central Texas. This project is a collaboration with Dr. Alice Villatoro, at the Latino Research Institute, and our community partner, Deliana Garcia (Migrant Clinicians Network & the Ventanilla de Salud within the Mexican Consulate in Austin). Students can gain skills in social science research and community-based research methods.
