About STEM Scouts
Using experiential activities and interaction with STEM professionals, the goal of the STEM Scouts program is to help young people grow in character and skills as they explore their curiosity about STEM fields. It is hoped that their growing knowledge will translate into the STEM-related careers that are so crucial to our country’s future economy. While the program focuses on future careers in STEM, it is ultimately designed to be challenging, thought-provoking and, most importantly, fun.
Internship Details
Interns will help us to deliver STEM Scouts programming virtually. Through the internship, they will be working with a variety of community leaders like teachers and other business professionals to provide the best possible program for all youth of different backgrounds. Through this program, interns will be challenged to become a better leader, organizer, communicator, and time-manager through virtual STEM Scouts. COVID-19 will be an interesting challenge to face this fall, but we are excited to help interns learn innovative thinking as they learn to flex when new challenges arise. Additionally, interns who are involved will get a first hand look on operations for non-profit management.
Interns are expected to work 10-15 hours/week.
Internship positions are unpaid. We are a non-profit organization, and while positions are unpaid, interns will receive many hands-on learning opportunities that help them to develop professional skills like: technology (slack, google, project management software), time-management, local networking, and future paid opportunities.
