In keeping with our mission to educate the next generation of music enthusiasts, the Austin Chamber Music Center is proud to offer internship opportunities for college-age students looking to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field. In most cases, college credit is available.
Start and end dates will depend on the internship you are applying for.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for an internship without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, citizenship, or any other protected status.

FALL & SPRING INTERNS
Fall & Spring interns will actively be involved in organizing all education programs – Young Artists & Adult Academy, School Concerts, In-School Programs, nationwide Coltman Competition, Summer Workshop, and outreach performances & activities. Interns will assist in placement auditions, participate in the grouping process and selecting music, prepare schedules & materials for students and faculty, coordinate performances & student activities, attend concerts, and see how each program runs first hand. Interns will also attend and help at select Synchronism and Intimate Concerts (professional concert series) as well as attend an ACMC board meeting. Education internships are geared towards interns seeing the full non-profit experience and will work with all departments in the ACMC office.
The Fall Internship runs from August through December. The Spring Internship runs from January through May. Fall/Spring interns must have reliable transportation. Undergraduate, masters and doctoral students within the music performance, music education and arts administration fields are encouraged to apply.
SUMMER INTERNS
Summer interns will assist in organizing all divisions of the Workshop and possibly other education programs as needed. There are part time and full time education internships available. Interns will actively participate in placement auditions, grouping process and selecting music, prepare schedules & materials for students and faculty, coordinate performances & student activities, manage parent volunteers, assist at events & concerts, and be on-site to see first hand how the action unfolds from beginning to end. Interns will also attend and help at select Festival Concerts (professional summer concert series) that coincides with the Workshop. Education internships are geared towards interns seeing the full non-profit experience and will work with all departments in the ACMC office.
We are also looking for interns that are excited for more experience with our young Primary Division (elementary age). If you are interested in this age group please specify when contacting us.

Marketing Internships – Fall & Spring

We seek an intern each semester to help with marketing and social media during our concert season. Duties include researching and preparing content to contribute to social media pages, posting calendar listings, and organizing press articles, with other duties to be assigned as needed. Ideal intern will work 4 to 8 hours a week, with the possibility of continuing into the spring/summer. Flexible scheduling and monthly stipend of $100. Most internship duties will be completed remotely with occasional in-person meetings and events. Must be available for a majority of ACMC concerts. Must have experience with social media platforms; arts experience is preferred. Potential candidates should be excited about the organization and be independent, organized workers .
