Job Title: Health Care Policy Intern (20 hrs/wk)

Job Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Job Description: The internship is based in Austin and provides general support for the CDF-TX Policy Department. The intern works 20 hours/week, and provides substantive research, compiles reports, monitors interim legislative committees and helps with the execution of advocacy-related activities, including advocate training/recruitment, story collection, public education, legislator visits, legislative briefings and social media work.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Policy research, briefs and training material
  • Conducts research on public policy, media trends and other subjects as needed
  • Assists in the development and execution of special projects
  • Perform other division, department, and organization-wide special projects as needed and assigned
  • Assist in maintaining CDF’s social media platforms
  • Evenings and occasional weekend activity may occasionally be required, consistent with policy support for a leading national not-for-profit organization

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational and execution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to social advocacy and CDF’s mission to be a voice for all children
  • Ability to organize facts and present issues in a clear, concise and logical manner, both orally and in writing
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact diplomatically and professionally with CDF staff and external partners/contacts
  • Strong computer, Internet and research skills

Customer Experience Intern at Tecovas- PAID

**(Spring internship with the opportunity to gain full-time employment post-graduation)**

Company Description:
Tecovas is revolutionizing the western-wear market as the first brand to make beautiful, handcrafted cowboy boots and sell them exclusively directly to customers. We are a rapidly-growing startup brand based in Austin, Texas with boot making operations in León, Mexico. We have an amazing cohort of customers, venture capital-backing, and a core team ready to expand and disrupt the US boot market.

This role will report to the Customer Experience Manager and will work closely with the Founder/CEO.

-Serve as the first point of contact for new and existing customers through our communication channels.
-Gain cross-functional experience in sales, events, marketing, and other customer-facing functions as desired
-Partner with leadership team to create and execute new policies, procedures and customer retention programs
-Quickly and accurately answer customer questions as well as solve problems related to purchases, shipping, and other issues.
-Provide thoughtful advice to questions related to product, including style, fit, and customer-specific recommendations
-Understand the product line, technology, ordering, shipping & logistics experience inside and out to serve as a knowledge base for customers and future Tecovas team members

The ideal candidate is a positive, results-driven, hard-working customer advocate who is comfortable being the face and voice of the brand. Specific desired qualifications include:

Growth Management Internship at LawnStarter- Spring 2018

LawnStarter is looking for a few Growth Management Interns for our internship program. We are a fast-paced technology startup based in Austin, Texas, so joining now is an excellent opportunity to learn hands-on business and entrepreneurial skills. We’re looking for sharp, hard-working, quick-learning college students (and recent grads) to join us. If that sounds like you, read on.

It’s game time this spring. This means a large part of your job will be working with our Growth Management Team handling multichannel communications, including a wide variety of inbound customer interactions to ensure our customers have an amazing experience with LawnStarter. You’ll be joining us early enough to have the privilege of working and learning alongside tech industry leaders in a rapidly growing company.

As a Growth Management Intern, your primary responsibility will be engaging with potential clients and using your superior communication skills to explain how awesome LawnStarter is. We work primarily with customers who reach out to us for service, which means no cold calls! This internship is perfect for those who want to go on to launch or work at a startup. The Internship is going to be for the Spring time. If you go above and beyond, we may extend it!

The most important qualifications are that you’re hardworking and can learn quickly. We can train you to do most tasks as long as you exhibit those traits. Ideally, we’re looking for a college student who’s interested in entrepreneurship and technology startups. That way, you can take away some valuable information from this experience.

Here are some good guidelines:

You’re enrolled as an undergraduate student or you’re a recent college grad.
You can work at least 20 hours per week (part-time), including evenings and/or weekends.
You have an affinity and aptitude for communications, both oral and written.
You’re not afraid of changes and are flexible with it.
You’re upbeat with a great disposition.
You like to make strangers smile.
You want to help build something cool.
