WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: We seek third year, fourth year, or grad students in journalism who are self-motivated, eager to learn, web-savvy, have a passion for news, and who love radio as a distinctive medium for introducing audiences to new and unusual ideas, voices and sounds. Previous training in news writing and audio production are a plus. An internship can be done for course credit, if needed.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO: Job duties for the internship are varied. We provide training on the basics of using recording equipment, digital editing, and posting stories online. Interns are often assigned to conduct phone interviews for news stories; assist reporters in research for stories; write news copy for on air scripts and web posts; update the website as necessary; and additional duties related to the production of a daily news show.
