Barbara Harlow Internship Fall 2024 – NOW OPEN!

Call for Applications: Undergraduate Internships

The Rapoport Center is now accepting applications for its standard internship (open to all UT undergrads), and Barbara Harlow internship (open to UT undergrad students pursuing any Bridging Disciplines Program (BDP) certificate). For Fall 2024, we are particularly interested in students with experience in the following areas: designing public-facing communications; community engagement and outreach at UT and/or in a comparable academic/nonprofit setting; developing websites (especially using WordPress platform); and human rights/social justice research and writing. Fall internships offer a scholarship of $1250, and selected interns should be available to work 10 hours per week, mostly in-person at the Rapoport Center. Apply by 11:59pm on Monday, August 5.

Texas Appleseed Fall 2024 Internships

Fall 2024: Texas Appleseed will begin accepting internship applications covering a variety of Projects/Departments on May 20, 2024.

Summer Internship with the Law Office of Blackburn Betts

The Law Office of Blackburn Betts is seeking a legal intern for the Summer and Fall Semester. Attorneys Benjamin Blackburn and Daniel Betts, both graduates of Texas Law, seek to provide personalized and comprehensive defense for clients who find themselves in difficult or unexpected situations. Blackburn Betts specializes in DWI defense, domestic violence, gun charges, drug charges, and theft charges. An internship at Blackburn Betts will provide you the opportunity to learn about the criminal justice system and the day-to-day workings of a law firm.

 

As an intern, you will:

  • Assist with answering the phones, taking payments, scheduling appointments, and assisting clients
  • Review discovery such as DMAV and body camera videos, audio from hearings, police reports, and photographs
  • Assist with filing subpoenas and other motions

Those who apply should be comfortable working under minimal supervision and must be able to pass a criminal background check. Spanish speakers are preferred.

 

This internship is in person and Interns will be paid $15.00/hour. – Bonus opportunities are also implemented.
