Content Marketing and PR Internship

Are you a skilled communicator looking to break into the world of content marketing and PR? Do you have a knack for writing targeted pitches via email and social media that break through the noise? Are you media savvy? Do you want to work with an experienced and a fast-moving team of people who are excited to welcome a valuable new member? Oh, and do you want to do all of that at one of Austin’s hottest tech companies with perks like gourmet lunches prepared by our onsite chef, a dog-friendly office, plenty of snacks, and a laid back atmosphere? If so, we have the perfect role for you.

SpareFoot is looking for a Content Marketing and PR Intern to join our marketing team. Your primary responsibility will be to pitch and promote our editorial (blog and landing page) content to reporters, producers, and bloggers in order to build links and brand exposure for SpareFoot and our partner sites.

We’re looking for someone who’s driven by results, thinks strategically, and can come up with creative, flexible solutions when current tactics aren’t working. You must be a skilled writer and communicator. You’re probably a Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Communications or English major.

About Us

  • SpareFoot is the largest marketplace for storage, making it simpler to move and store your stuff. Our website lets you compare the most storage options nationwide and pick the best solution for your needs, whether it’s traditional self-storage or full-service storage.
  • SpareFoot operates a network of websites that help consumers comparison shop for storage facilities (like Hotels.com for self-storage). These include www.sparefoot.com and www.selfstorage.com.

What you will do everyday:

  • Identify audiences and individuals at digital media outlets that will share our content
  • Write killer pitches over email and social media to get our content shared and promoted
  • Maintain lists of relevant online media for future outreach
  • Work with our editorial team on spacing out relevant content based on workload and timeliness
  • Send regular progress reports and track goals
  • Figure out what’s working, what isn’t, and iterate

About you:

  • You’re hungry –– you love doing media outreach and securing coverage
  • Ability to work between 20 – 28 hours a week
  • Results-driven, a strategic thinker, and able to quickly pivot when current tactics aren’t working.
  • You’re organized
  • You’re a skilled writer and communicator.

Bonus Points:

  • You’re a Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Communications or English major.
  • Experience with Content Marketing or SEO isn’t required, but would be a plus.

  1. Identify 10 websites that you think SpareFoot would get the most value out of a share/link from, and who you think would be willing to share this infographic.
  2. Choose one of those ten sites, and explain why you think a link from them would be valuable, and why they might be likely to share it with their audience.
  3. Get their email address and tell us how you found it.
  4. Craft a customized email pitch convincing them to share the infographic on their site, complete with a subject line.

Texas Appleseed Fall Video Internship

Texas Appleseed Fall 2016 Internship

Texas Appleseed is pleased to offer a small number of internships in a variety of project areas for students of law and public policy, as well as journalism and communications. Students work under the guidance of experienced professionals and attorneys. Interested students should be dependable, have a desire to learn, and should demonstrate strong organizational and writing skills.

Video Intern

Texas Appleseed is offering a paid internship for a video intern. The intern will report directly to the communications director, but the intern will be able to work across project areas and with other directors at our nonprofit. The intern will help produce timely videos for our blog (The Core), help brainstorm concepts for other videos related to our work, and help conduct video interviews with key populations in Texas. When available, the intern may also assist with social media posts and other basic PR functions such as updating media lists, writing, and conducting research.

Requirements:

  • You must be available to work at least 10-15 hours per week during the fall semester.
  • Candidate must be adept at shooting video on an iPhone, iPad or DSLR camera, as well as skilled at editing video in Final Cut Pro (preferred), Adobe Premiere (preferred) or iMovie.
  • Candidate should have an interest in telling stories through video, social and economic justice, marketing, advertising, communications or public relations.

Cook, Learn, Grow PAID Fall Internship Opportunities

Teaching kids what real food is, where it comes from and how to cook it.

Cook, Learn, Grow is looking for the next Top Creative Media Intern! Do you have what it takes? We want you to showcase your creative skills for a chance at our internship program. Here’s your opportunity to create graphics including images, video production, editing and distribution for our social media platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Create graphics including images, video production, editing and distribution for our social media platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Be Teachable
  • Have experience with video equipment, video and photo editing software.
  • Possess skills and experience creating and editing videos
  • Possess strong writing skills and cooking skills
  • Able to commit for a 4-month minimum
  • Available 2-5pm, M-F, 1-5 days depending on enrollment (Spring & Fall). Schedule may vary.

  • Prepare for Cook, Learn, Grow lessons; run class related errands including but not limited to grocery shopping, prepping/cleaning for class, etc.
  • Maintain safe and engaging classroom environment

  • Passionate about teaching children about food
  • Excellent ability to engage and manage children

The internship time commitment will get busier as we move into September- December season.
