At EcoRise, we believe that education is the key to solving social and environmental justice, that teachers are the catalyst to igniting innovation, and that students have the potential to design a sustainable future for all. Our curriculum and school-based program empowers youth to tackle real-world challenges in their schools and communities by teaching environmental literacy, social innovation, and hands-on design skills.

Role
EcoRise is working to publish multiple K–12 educational products with a focus on entrepreneurship, design thinking, and green building design. We are currently seeking a creative and motivated junior designer to help develop these materials, from creating templates to designing illustrations. This position will report to the Chief Designer and will work closely with the Curriculum team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their design knowledge by working alongside a group of talented individuals.
This is a 10–15 hour/week paid internship position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Student applicants can pursue course credit.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS
Educational background in graphic design, communications design, editorial design or related field
Experience working in in print applications
Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel,Word, and PowerPoint)
Great at coming up with original design ideas and just as good at doing the production work
Demonstrates initiative and willingness to learn, as well as the ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, communicate progress, and collaborate with others
DESIRED SKILLS
Approaches problems from a user-centered lens
Familiar with sustainability and design thinking concepts
Photography, fine art, and/or video skills
