Party at the Moontower Internship- UPDATED

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and organized Graphic Design/Business Intern.

Party at the Moontower is a design-forward event rentals company. Our rental inventory focuses on Austin modern furniture — eclectic, fun, and memorable! We service all events such as corporate parties, conferences, weddings and any other gathering where they want an elevated experience for their guests.

We’ve worked with companies like Create + Cultivate, SXSW, Bunkhouse, and Bossbabes!

While many of the tasks will be graphic design related, a good candidate would be someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, since you’ll be assisting in all aspects of the business. 

This is a hands-on internship + we love to have fun, but we take our work seriously! The average time commitment for this position is 10-15 hours per week with flexible hours.

You will be doing things like…

– Creation of artwork for various marketing materials, from ads to newsletters to promo materials 

– Photo editing and organization

– Learning how a small business functions, from operations to sales (help with admin tasks) 

– Assisting with photoshoots

– Occasionally helping at our warehouse—from pulling orders to helping cleaning the space. Can’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty. 

Qualifications

– Be a college student and/or seeking college credit

– Graphic design background—> must be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, knowledge of typography

– General digital savvy-mess—social media, online software like google drive, etc. 

– Ready to learn and roll with the fast-paced nature of the event business

– Bonus: Genuine interest in the events and/or interior design industry

Dell Med Health Leadership Apprentice Program- Summer 2018

 

The summer application for the Dell Med Health Leadership Apprentice Program is open!

We offer opportunities to learn and discover at the intersection of health and communication, business, art, law, design, humanities, engineering, and more. It’s a great chance to get engaged in the well-being of the community, sample academic medicine, learn from Dell Med faculty, participate in research and the development of hands-on community initiatives, and develop your own passion project with the help of Dell Med faculty. This is a chance to truly make a difference – past student projects from the HLA Program include bringing Stop the Bleed training to campus, bringing a meditation and wellness center to Dell Med to improve medical student wellness, a project that will train barbers and hairstylists in the community how to spot skin cancer on the scalp, and the development of a centralized volunteer pipeline from UT to nonprofit and free clinics around central Texas. It’s an exciting program, and I want to share it with as many of my fellow Longhorns as possible! Learn more here.

Fast facts:

  • Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply, as are recent graduates taking a “gap year”
  • Earning course credit via UGS or the student’s specific department as appropriate is available and encouraged
  • To apply, complete the application found here and submit a CV to the widget on that page
  • The application and CV are due by 11:59 PM on April 13th
  • The summer program runs from May 29th to August 6th
  • There’s a required poster session on August 7th, 12:00 – 2:00 that will be judged by Dell Med faculty

Party At the Moontower Internship- Summer 2018

Party at the Moontower is a design-forward event rentals company specializing in Austin Modern aesthetic. We provide furniture and décor for corporate events, weddings, stage design, parties, and really just about anything.  

 You will be a direct contributor to our business and have real responsibilities. We’re a small company and will rely on the work you do! You’re a valuable member here.

 Your time commitment is about 10 hours a week with flexible hours depending on your schedule.

 Sometimes you will be…

·       Running errands (picking things up, meeting people at the warehouse, etc.)

·       Creating design boards

·       Reaching out to venues + clients via email

·       Setting up for events

·       Write blog posts

·       Attending events

·       Help with photoshoots
