Environmental Education Interns Our education internships are highly organized, fast paced, powerful professional development experiences for people who wish to enter the environmental education field, or “round out” their backgrounds as they prepare for science careers [read our Intern Testimonials!]. This internship’s core is environmental education with schoolchildren, but our interns work on a wide variety of projects including environmental education event management, data warehousing and analysis, and curriculum development. The key requirement for internships is that all our interns are organized, smart, and highly motivated for a fast-paced and interesting work experience. Interns commit a minimum of 15 hours/week.
Educational Interns assist with the planning, development and management of student educational programs including field trips and classroom materials. Programs teach water conservation, geography and geology of the Colorado River in Texas, aspects of a healthy watershed and water quality assessment. Interns are instrumental in the development and implementation of new curriculum and programming.
Community & Special Events Internship
Participate in the Alliance community events and fundraisers – including banquets, festivals, and speaking events. Help includes sponsorship solicitation, event set up and more. The best part – most of these events occur in the evening or on the weekends – perfect for someone with a busy work schedule.
Qualifications: If you have a keen eye for detail, thrive on juggling multiple deadlines, love to plan, plan, plan and can take an idea and run with it, this might be the perfect internship for you! Please keep in mind that this internship will require you to be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and have strong communication skills.
