All Internships Require:
- A total of 180 hours of work (eligible for university credit as defined by the school program). Preference for interns who can work set days each week.
- Must be able to commute to Austin, Texas (the office is located in north Austin).
- Must pass all screening requirements including full criminal background check.
- 2 years of college study preferred.
Case Assistant Internship (Missing Children’s Division), Austin, Texas
- Spring 2014 position filled; considering for Summer and Fall 2014.
- Provide technical assistance to families, law-enforcement and social-service agencies, and courts with issues related to missing and exploited children.
- Conduct computer database searches.
- Network with law-enforcement and state agencies to help resolve cases.
Outreach & Programs Internship, Austin, Texas
- Assist community & educational outreach staff (preparing presentations, training & conducting community outreach, and completing special projects).
- Internet research (on current child abduction & exploitation trends as well as data to increase community partnerships).
- Attend various on-site training seminars and presentations. Learn to give NetSmartz® presentations in the community.
Development Internship, Austin, Texas
- Planning and logistics for fundraising activities.
- Data entry (training provided for fundraising database); experience using Excel to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent writing skills (English and/or Communication majors preferred but not required); excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work with community donors. Social media experience a plus.
- The Texas Regional Office will hold its signature fundraising event on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Experience with special events a plus but not required; participation on the day and evening of the event preferred.
