Internships with the Colorado River Alliance
Ready for an internship that’s life-changing? Our work with Central Texas students is laying the foundation for a new generation of environmental stewards and scientists — and we need your help!
Bilingual students (Spanish and English) are welcome to apply, and our Spring 2019 internships will offer a modest stipend of $250 upon successful completion of the internship.
Internships with the Colorado River Alliance are powerful professional development experiences. Interns commit an average of 15 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., M-F. You will typically spend 10 hours teaching in our award-winning environmental education programs for elementary and middle school students, plus an additional 5 hours on special projects related to the Alliance’s educational mission and your interests. Much of our environmental education programming takes place outdoors.
Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish) is preferred, but candidates with Spanish proficiency are also welcome to apply!
Alliance Interns receive comprehensive training, professional development consultations with our staff, and networking and resume-building opportunities. Our internships are suitable for students with a wide range of backgrounds – aspiring scientists, educators, business professionals, athletes, and healthcare workers have all succeeded with us; the key to success is being motivated, organized, and passionate. If you love the idea of teaching groups of kids about the natural world, we want to hear from you.

Spring Internships with the Asian American Resource Center
Internships – Development, Marketing, Community Health

ABOUT THE AARC – NONPROFIT
The Asian American Resource Center Nonprofit Organization (AARC Nonprofit) is a Texas 501(c)3 corporation committed improving quality of life for all Asians living in Austin. Our organization cultivates community partnerships and programs in the areas of refugee/new immigrant services, senior enrichment and community health and wellness. Our mission is to improve health and wellness of Asian Americans in Austin through advocacy, service, and education.
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
Overall, the ideal AARC – Nonprofit Intern is organized and has good communication skills. They are culturally competent and aware of different issues of the Asian American community today. The Intern is supervised by the Executive Director and will support the efforts of all team members. Bilingualism, especially in Mandarin Chinese, Burmese, Korean, or Vietnamese, is preferred, but not required.
We are looking for interns for the following areas:
- Marketing/Social Media – assist with developing marketing materials for publication to the community, able to communicate effectively
- Development – assist with grant writing/proposal drafting, fundraising, research, and further supporting the AARC’s mission
- Community Health – promotes the Community Health Navigator program by developing health materials and educational programs
- Administrative Intern – assists with logistics, brainstorming events based on community needs, event planning, strategic planning
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Intern works closely with the Executive Director to support the mission of the Asian American Resource Center. Duties will be assigned according to their interests, but must be flexible in collaborating and working with other employees when needed.

This is a part-time position. There is opportunity for class credit if allowed by the college/university. This is a great opportunity to learn more about non-profits, health policy, and creating positive change in the local community.
