Campus Environmental Center Seeking Fall 2014-Spring 2015 Interns

The Campus Environmental Center is looking to hire student interns for the next school year. Currently the following positions are posted on Hirealonghorn; please visit this site to submit your application.

Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer works with CEC staff to produce posters flyers and web graphics to represent CEC programs and events. Designer must be able to produce professional drafts of flyers, T-shirt designs and informational literature on quick deadlines and be flexible in design adjustments.

Tree Nursery Coordinator
The UT Campus Environmental Center seeks a new Tree Nursery coordinator beginning in late spring 2014 and continuing through the 2014-2015 school year. The coordinator will work with CEC, UT Landscaping, and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center on the management and use of the Tree Nursery. The primary function of the position is to keep current students connected to the Nursery via volunteer opportunities and sharing accomplishments.

Tailgate Recycling Coordinator
The Tailgate Recycling Coordinator will partner with the Campus Environmental Center, UT Athletics and the Office of Sustainability to plan and implement recycling during the fall football home games. The Tailgate Recycling Coordinator will gather volunteers and coordinate them to pass out recycling bags and educate fans in the tailgate lots about recycling.  As a result, the Tailgate Recycling Leader will need to be available for all the home football games which are listed below. Exact work schedule is negotiable except for the dates listed below. This position is for the Fall 2014, however there is the possibility to continue work in the Spring.

Communications Internship with UNLTD USA

The Opportunity
We are seeking a creative and compelling Communications Intern to oversee our communications strategy, giving us a voice across all platforms.
You will be responsible for:
  • Content: creating clear and compelling content so people know what we’re doing, what we’re learning and how to get involved. This includes: website, blog posts, newsletters and social media posts, among others.
  • Strategy: working with the founder to set and implement our communications strategy.
  • Analytics: using data to help us test, learn and improve on what works for our communications strategy

You are someone who

  • Is tech-savvy, competent and familiar with WordPress.
  • Has compelling writing skills and sweats the small stuff—you noticed the typo in the previous section.
  • Is comfortable working with a small, values-driven team in a fast-paced environment. You are resourceful, proactive and a fast learner.
  • Will enjoy taking responsibility of being the voice of UnLtd USA: you have a knack for knowing what’s interesting about people’s work and how to share it.
  • Preferred: you are a talented graphic designer ready to put your skills to work changing the world.

Search and Selection Intern

UnLtd USA, a newly-launching support program for start-up social entrepreneurs based in Austin, TX is looking for an outstanding Search and Selection Intern to join our team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Search and Selection Intern support our work identifying and supporting start-up social entrepreneurs in Austin through a data-driven analysis of existing trends among social entrepreneurs starting up in Austin.

Responsibilities include:

Your job will be to work directly with our Search and Selection Associate to track and analyze current trends among early-stage social entrepreneurs in Austin.
You will take ownership of:

  • Tracking and analyzing the trends among early-stage social entrepreneurs in Austin
  • Synthesizing these findings into a public report
  • Making data-driven recommendations to inform our future Search and Selection strategyYou will help:

• Support the selection of our first UnLtd USA cohort

You Will Gain:
