The Sustainability Tours is a Green Fee-funded program at The University of Texas at Austin that aims to educate the UT Austin campus and the wider community about the broad topic of sustainability, through hands-on educational programs. This program aims to harness the educational opportunity the high concentration of sustainability programs and initiatives the UT Austin campus provides, to inform and inspire others about sustainability
Sustainability Tours are currently looking to fill a number of internship positions that will begin in August 2015:
Tour Lead: Three students will be selected to run the tour portion of the program. One of the students will be overseeing the other two.The overall duties will include, scheduling and planning regular tours, establishing a schedule for each tour, coordinating with all parties who will be involved, renting rooms, informing UTPD, and PTS, and thanking all those involved at the completion of the event. This position will also be in charge of ensuring that photos are taken at the tours, and that feedback is requested from those who participate. The students will also continue to develop the database and relationships with faculty and staff across campus for the program.
Software Development Intern: Work closely with the marketing intern to continue developing the aesthetics of the map and website. Update the map as new projects and landmarks are introduced. Begin coordinating with UT to create a mobile app that would allow users to interact with the map while walking throughout campus.
Marketing Intern: Develop a program logo, PowerPoint template, program brochures and marketing material, in coordination with and approval from the Sustainability Tour team.. Manage all social media outlets, including the development of a Facebook page, Twitter handle, and others as needed and establish a schedule for posting to these social media outlets. Regularly communicate with the Map Lead and Tour Lead, to assist with their need for publicity.

Perks: All positions will receive a stipend for each semester worked and we are very flexible since it is a new program. We are willing to work with BDP interns to help identify potential faculty mentors and projects that may be a good fit as a Connecting Experience.
