Diversity in Arts Leadership Internship Program

DIAL provides college students working towards careers in the arts or business sectors with a hands-on introduction to arts nonprofits in New York City. The Arts & Business Council of New York matches undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds with energetic host arts organizations and business mentors, who guide students’ personal and professional growth throughout the summer.
Arts management interns are carefully chosen from a competitive nationwide pool of students and granted, paid, full-time, ten-week-long internships at multidisciplinary arts organizations. To ensure an immersive and well-rounded experience, the summer includes:
Full time work placement at a New York City arts nonprofit
Summer stipend and transportation cards
Weekly group site visits to all intern host sites
Monthly professional development workshops and cultural outings
A private sector mentor
Eligible applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
-be available for the half day orientation scheduled for Friday, June 2, 2017
-be available during the entire length of the program, Monday, June 5 to Thursday, August 10, 2017;
-be currently enrolled as an undergraduate; and
-be able to provide Employment Eligibility Verification. Applicants must be able to provide (but do not need to include with application materials) EITHER one document from List A OR one document from List B, plus one document from List C.
