Savrick Schumann Johnson McGarr Kaminski & Shirley LLP, a full-service law firm in Austin, has an opening for a file clerk/receptionist. This law office is looking for an individual that is organized, dependable, conscientious, and is a self-starter. The file clerk will be a relied upon member of our team. The position is in-office/in-person. The law office prefers hiring longer term employees who can work 20-25 hours per week; Sophomores and Juniors are highly encouraged to apply.
We are looking for 3-4 part-time File Clerks-this opportunity would be an ideal position for a rising sophomore or junior, but we are open to other candidates as well, with an interest in gaining exposure to the law in a variety of practice areas.

A file clerk’s primary duties include:
- answering the phones and greeting clients
- meticulously filing client documents
- helping legal assistants and attorneys with projects ranging such as creating custody calendars for family law attorneys to assisting with the creation of various media presentations for depositions and trials
Reliability, accountability, attention to detail, discreetness and confidentiality are imperative.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous office or customer service experience is not required but would be appreciated
- Candidates must have dependable transportation
- Solid computer skills with experience using MS Word, MS Excel, Microsoft Outlook and proficient typing skills
- Telephone Skills
- Reliable transportation as office is in The Overlook at Southwest Parkway and Mopac – there is ample covered parking.
Pay Rate and Hours:
- Approx. $17 per hour
- Approx. 15-20 hours per week
- Hours needed are M/T/W/TH morning shifts (8:30a-1p) AND afternoon shifts (1p-5p) and Fridays from 8:30-1. We are looking for several people potentially to cover these shifts.
