Seeking actors for unique internship with Expect Respect, a program of SAFE!

Are you a college-aged (18-25) actor, facilitator, or activist? Are you interested in working as a peer educator in a Theatre for Dialogue program which raises awareness about teen dating violence and unhealthy relationships?

Where’s Your Line?, an Educational Theatre Program, is recruiting actor-facilitator interns for the Fall 2017 semester! Interest in prevention education, youth programming, social work, applied theatre or social justice is preferred. No previous acting experience is necessary.

This Theatre for Dialogue program examines the struggles between two seniors as they make decisions about their relationship and life after high school. The format of the program includes scenes and monologues from the characters and discussion about healthy and unhealthy dating behaviors, creating boundaries, and navigating problems in relationships.

Available Roles:

Maya – Female, she’s struggling to choose between her boyfriend and her future.

Eli – Male, he’s excited about his future and worried about his relationship.

K – any gender, Maya’s best friend, struggling to support her during this rough time.

This unpaid internship requires a commitment of 5-7 hours/week, including 1-2 weekly rehearsals (daytime or evening). Then we will perform the program in high school classrooms across the greater Austin area! Reliable transportation is required. Preference will be given to individuals who can commit to a two semester internship.

We make special efforts to recruit and be inclusive of diverse applicants. We strive for diversity in these areas: race, ethnicity, backgrounds, gender identity and expression, national origin, sexual orientation, and disability.

Auditions and interviews will be held on Sunday, April 23rd 11:30am-1:30 pm & 2:00-4:00pm.
