Austin Youth River Watch (AYRW) empowers youth through a nature-based, experiential, and service-oriented afterschool and summer program in environmental science. Our mission is to transform and inspire underserved youth through environmental education, community engagement, and adventure. Position Summary
AYRW is seeking a qualified intern to assist with non-profit development and fundraising tasks including social media engagement, formulation of donation campaigns and virtual event planning. This role is ideal for someone that is interested in the non-profit field and looking to get hands on experience with a local organization. Interns will learn to develop themselves professionally, have networking opportunities, and bring ideas to the table for implementation into fundraising and communications strategies.

Responsibilities
- Create and post engaging, interactive, and on-brand content for key channels, including website, newsletters, and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
- Help develop engaging fundraising campaigns, including thinking creatively about campaign messages and strategies
- Assist with virtual event planning, including promotion, content, and coordination
- Other tasks and assignments as needed
Qualifications
- Current college student with interest in the nonprofit sector
- Skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content
- Knowledge of social media, including an understanding of creative trends and language used on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in non-profit world
- Resourceful and creative — able to brainstorm and implement new ideas
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized
- Working knowledge of Canva or Adobe Design Software preferred
- Proficiency in Spanish translation preferred
- Reliable form of transportation preferred (mileage reimbursement available for qualifying tasks)
