Health Care Policy Internship with Children’s Defense Fund

Job Description: The internship is based in Austin and provides general support for the CDF-TX Policy Department. The intern works 20 hours/week, and provides substantive research, compiles reports, monitors interim legislative committees and helps with the execution of advocacy-related activities, including advocate training/recruitment, story collection, public education, legislator visits, legislative briefings and other Department projects.

The internship opportunity is available for Fall 2015. Interested applicants must submit their coverletter and resume by August 5, 2015. Start date is flexible.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Advocate outreach and recruitment
  • Policy research, briefs and training material
  • Conducts research on public policy, media trends and other subjects as needed
  • Assists in the development and execution of special projects
  • Perform other division, department, and organization-wide special projects as needed and assigned
  • Assist in maintaining CDF’s social media platforms
  • Evenings and occasional weekend activity is required, consistent with policy support for a leading national not-for-profit organization

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational and execution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to social advocacy and CDF’s mission to be a voice for all children
  • Ability to organize facts and present issues in a clear, concise and logical manner, both orally and in writing
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact diplomatically and professionally with CDF staff and external partners/contacts
  • Strong computer, Internet and research skills

Hands on Housing Internship:

Client Services Intern, Fall 2015

This position is perfect for a student hoping to learn more about a career in social services and/or non-profits. You will, under the supervision of the Hands on Housing Program Coordinator, support client services and assist in case management. The ideal applicant will be hardworking, independent, and possess strong communication, organization and time-management skills. Previous experience in client services and bilingual Spanish-English are both preferred, but not required.  It is required that any applicant be willing to commit to a full four month internship.

Fall Schedule: Late August-Early December, 10-15 hours/week

iACT for Refugees Internship:

Refugee Services Intern, Fall 2015

A fall intern is needed to implement a new mentoring program for refugee youths for an average of 10 to 15 hours a week. The responsibilities include assisting in matching  mentors with refugee youths, facilitating meetings with the help of language interpreters and organizing a reporting system for mentors to follow.  Most of the work needs to be done afternoons, evenings and some weekends.Candidate must be exceptionally organized, be able to work independently, have good people skills and is able to be flexible and creative under changing conditions. Cultural competency and understanding are necessary.This is an opportunity to work with newly arrived refugees from numerous countries around the world and to make a difference in the lives of teenagers with language and cultural barriers helping them to finish high school as a first step to successful lives.

Role definition and primary responsibilitiesLong past the era of plug-and-play, global brands with distributed infrastructure networks need help managing their social media software deployments for their specific business requirements. Sprinklr is looking for interns to assist our Success Directors and to grow our expanding need for Success Managers who can ensure the following outcomes from every client deployment:

  • Client expectations regarding platform management, use and value proposition are met
  • Platform management aligns to strategic social objectives
  • Success Management is executed in such a way as to anticipate future client needs or business requirements that may occur
  • Sprinklr establishes a relationship built on trust with every partner and client champion

 

Success Manager Intern (SMI) will ensure that every client derives the most value possible from the Sprinklr experience. SMI’s will report directly to Success Directors (SD) and will act as a day-to-day resource, assisting the SD in managing client happiness, and supporting SDs to ensure optimal client service as it relates to platform performance, functionality, enhancements, and configuration. SMI will be involved in working with internal Sprinklr Success team to assist in tasks related to managing client tasks and/or growing existing accounts. Tasks include basic platform configuration activities, support ticket management, communication organization and general account support of the SD.

Desired Skills and Experience

 

Requirements

  • Pending or recent college graduate pursuing 4-year college degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated experience and a passion for the social technology universe (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, Flickr, blogs, G+, LinkedIn, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, discussion forums and community software)
  • Extremely strong communication and presentation skills
  • Passion for solving challenges and commitment to making clients happy
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously
  • (Preferred) Fluency in social media platforms and direct experience in working with social media management software
  • (Preferred) Strong technical background with advanced computer skills

 

  • Technical Addendum:
  • Experience using;
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google App Suite (Drive), Instant Message technologies (Skype)
  • Knowledge of web usability best practices, website navigation design and flow, content classification, and content management methods and systems
