Responsibilities:
• Monitor all City Council, Commissioner and Committee Hearings
• Assist with scheduling and coordinate conference call, meetings, etc.
• Assist with letters, summaries, motions, action plans, charts, etc.
• Make copies, scan and file client project information.
• Assist with mailings and printing production
• Research tax plat maps, zoning map, future land use map, and all information needed to evaluate a project.
• Assist with applications and submittal packages for rezoning, neighborhood plan amendments, variances, land status determinations, permits, etc.
• Deliver or pickup documents for clients
• Provide weekly updates regarding items to be completed.
Students applying for this internship must have the ability to work as a team member with other consultants, including civil engineers, land planners, architects, traffic consultants, attorneys and environmental consultants. Excellence in managing time, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines are essential. Consistent communication with clients, colleagues, governmental entities and community organizations is critical. An interest in and a willingness to learn new technologies, municipal regulations and initiatives are essential. Confidence to engage with members of the public is required. Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. Intern’s proficient with PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, should apply. Adobe Reader is preferred.
