Marathon Kids Development Intern
Direct Reports to: Chief Development Officer (and entire development team)
Start Date: Summer 2015, 20hrs/week (flexible for applicants schedule/availability)
OVERVIEW: Marathon Kids works with schools, families, and communities to develop healthy eating and fitness habits in children and adults alike, offering an evidence-based program to elementary school aged children in cities across the country. With over 240,000 participants nationwide this year, Marathon Kids is succeeding at its mission: to improve the health of children by providing them the motivation, tools and support to live happier and healthier lifestyles. Marathon Kids seeks an outgoing, fun, and eager intern, who is passionate about changing the lives of children, to join our dynamic development department.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): • Provide general administrative and organizational support • Research new funding opportunities and aid in the development of funding proposals for individuals, corporations, and foundations • Event planning, management, and support • Salesforce maintenance and data entry • Donor acknowledgment and cultivation • Previous graphic design work and / or Adobe Illustrator experience preferred

Marathon Kids Programs Intern

Start Date: Summer 2015, 20 hours/week (flexible for applicant’s schedule/availability)
OVERVIEW: Marathon Kids seeks an energetic, part-time, unpaid intern to assist the Programs Team in the implementation of initiatives designed to scale and improve our evidence-based, physical activity and healthy lifestyle program for children, the 26.2 Mile Challenge. With over 240,000 participants nationwide this year, Marathon Kids is succeeding at its mission: to improve the health of children by providing them the motivation, tools and support to live happier and healthier lifestyles.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): • Parent and teacher outreach throughout the summer • Preparing and assisting with presentations at local school-based meetings • Maintaining the Program Department’s social media presence • Assisting with the creation of a programmatic implementation guide • Assisting in the maintenance of a project management system • Assisting with the creation of content for MK web-based platform • Researching state and federal mandates regarding physical education • Researching ways to align the 26.2 Mile Challenge with current MK partner programming • Assisting with upkeep of program-wide database • Assisting with other program-related tasks as they arise
