ABOUT US: The Nobelity Project is a nonprofit organization focused on education for all. Based in Austin, we tell stories through the power of film about global issues and then take action. For over a decade, The Nobelity Project has provided resources (classrooms, libraries and clean water to communities in Kenya, Honduras, Mexico and the US) to ensure as many children as possible have an opportunity to an education. We firmly believe that local action has a profound global impact.

WHO:

• Multi-tasker who handles business like a boss
• Participate in wide array of projects, both in team setting and on individual basis

• Strong interpersonal skills and professional appearance
• Fast learner, quick to action, work with urgency and keep calm under pressure
• Willing to take on all assigned tasks no matter how small

WHAT:

• Hands on training in nonprofit sector, work with executive board members
• Help with day to day tasks, event management, grant research
• Web development, social media/marketing, clean online files, heavy data entry
• Cordial follow up and professionalism with donors, maintain confidential records

• Strong volunteer leader
• Nonstop event prep and errands

WHEN: Hours negotiable, some work can be performed remotely but must be available during normal business hours. Special events may require long days/evenings.

WHERE: The Nobelity Project is located at 1002 West Ave. Reliable transportation and cell phone required.

Texas Appleseed Fall Video Internship

Texas Appleseed Fall 2016 Internship

Texas Appleseed is pleased to offer a small number of internships in a variety of project areas for students of law and public policy, as well as journalism and communications. Students work under the guidance of experienced professionals and attorneys. Interested students should be dependable, have a desire to learn, and should demonstrate strong organizational and writing skills.

Video Intern

Texas Appleseed is offering a paid internship for a video intern. The intern will report directly to the communications director, but the intern will be able to work across project areas and with other directors at our nonprofit. The intern will help produce timely videos for our blog (The Core), help brainstorm concepts for other videos related to our work, and help conduct video interviews with key populations in Texas. When available, the intern may also assist with social media posts and other basic PR functions such as updating media lists, writing, and conducting research.

Requirements:

  • You must be available to work at least 10-15 hours per week during the fall semester.
  • Candidate must be adept at shooting video on an iPhone, iPad or DSLR camera, as well as skilled at editing video in Final Cut Pro (preferred), Adobe Premiere (preferred) or iMovie.
  • Candidate should have an interest in telling stories through video, social and economic justice, marketing, advertising, communications or public relations.

U.S. Green Building Council Central Texas Fall Internship

Fall Internship Opportunity – Marketing & Communications

A great internship opportunity is available for a smart, responsible, motivated student to work for the U.S. Green Building Council Central Texas region. USGBC is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to accelerating adoption of green building and land development practices through outreach, education, advocacy and partnerships. Our goal is to enable an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy and prosperous environment that assures quality of life for all Texans.

Title: USGBC Central Texas Marketing & Communications Intern (Unpaid)

Hours: Min. 20 hours per week

Location: Austin, TX

Job Description:

To work with the Regional Council Executive Committee in communications efforts, marketing, social media, and promoting and organizing of events.

Work responsibilities will include:

o Organize luncheons, tours, member happy hours and other special events

o Prepare and disseminate event publicity
o Provide news for the USGBC Texas newsletter and website
o Undertake social media activities in Central Texas

o Create and distribute marketing materials

o Write and pitch press releases
o Prepare membership communications.

Position requirements:

  Ideally studying marketing, communications or other related courses

  Must be computer and internet savvy; proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop and In-Design an advantage

  Prepared to do both innovative and everyday work

  Detail oriented, highly organized self-starter

  Willing to commit to working hard and, once committed, being reliable

  Knowledge of or passion for sustainable building, environmental issues or energy conservation a plus.
