Description

CareBOX Program is an Austin based nonprofit providing free care supplies to cancer patients to help prevent malnutrition, infections, and injuries from falls. Our organization is comprised of a team of 4 women acting as Executive Director, Development Director, Program Coordination and Program Assistant. We rely significantly on volunteers and interns to help us achieve our mission and grow our program to serve an increasing number of Central Texas cancer patients in need. Internship positions offer a great learning opportunity in a startup nonprofit environment and are critical to aid in the development & success of the CareBOX Program.

Responsibilities

As a startup non-profit, we appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit & excellent candidates must be self-starters. Interns with the CareBOX Program will have their own specific projects, and will work together, with volunteers & staff alike, to help keep the organization moving in the right direction. All internship positions require flexibility and a willingness to help across the nonprofit, perhaps sometimes outside of designated rolls. We currently have three internship opportunities open:

1. Program/Operations Intern : A wide variety of projects are available, including but not limited to; receiving inventory, packing patient supplies, patient onboarding and communication, participating in third party community events and community research projects.

2. Development Intern : This role will include assisting the Development Director in planning and executing in-house and community engagement opportunities, donor communication and cultivation, and utilizing/updating a donor management system.

3. Social Media/Marketing : Interns in this area will work with all members of the team to ensure that consistent and ongoing outreach is happening to key CareBOX Program stakeholders (e.g. donors, patients) as well as leveraging ways to increase awareness and engagement among new community members.

Requirements

Applicants must be either currently working towards a degree or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree. We are looking for interns who are passionate, dedicated, hardworking, creative and entrepreneurial minded. Being a detail-oriented, self-starter is a must. CareBOX Program is a fast paced environment with a multitude of opportunities to learn and master a wide range of transferable skills. A candidate who is able to commit 15-20hrs per week is preferred.
