Admissions Intern, 4th and 1 Football Camp
4th and 1, Inc. is a non-profit football camp that provides free ACT training, football prep and life skills workshops to at-risk youth. The camp has been in operation for the last nine years and has served over 500 student-athletes. To learn more about the camp check out www.4thand1.org
The camp was founded by Daron K. Roberts (BA, ’01). Roberts serves as the founding director of the Center for Sports Leadership & Innovation and a lecturer in the Liberal Art Honors program at UT. To learn more about the Center, check out www.sportsleadership.utexas.edu
4th and 1 is looking for an admissions intern. The camp operates an online application process to select 35 student-athletes who will participate in the summer week-long camp.
This candidate will work directly with Professor Roberts. We estimate 8-10 hours of work per week in the spring semester.
Ideal candidates will:
- Take initiative and be able to work independently
- Market the 4th and 1 online application by posting to relevant websites and sharing via social media
- Be responsive by replying in a short (w/in 48 hours) timeframe when applicants submit applications
- Demonstrate good communication and follow-up skills. Admitted applicants will have to be notified and guided through the process of submitting necessary paperwork and a deposit before being admitted to the camp.
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Exhibit attention to detail
- Have a basic working proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Google Sheets

The Miracle Foundation brings life-changing care to the world’s orphans. We’ve created a
measurable, repeatable and systematic method to ensure that orphans are educated, fed, loved
and safe. Our interns gain valuable experience learning how to run an effective and efficient
international nonprofit–and make a real difference for vulnerable children around the world!
Intern responsibilities vary, and are generally in one of the following areas: Research,
Development, Programs and Finance. We do our best to find projects that suit your interests and
develop your expertise.
• Our Research Intern will work with our Office Manager to look into and study different
subjects of interest for the Miracle Foundation.
• Our Development Intern will work with our Development Coordinator to plan events,
analyze fundraising data, develop fundraising campaigns, research funding prospects, and
more.
• Our Programs Intern will work with our Director of Global Programs and Program
Coordinator to input and analyze data, create and improve programs, and more.
• Our Finance Intern will work with our Chief Financial Officer to create financial statements,
track our expenses, and more.
Requirements:
We offer both formal (for class credit) and informal internships. Interns are
expected to donate at least 10 hours/week of their time and exemplify the following qualities:
• Global perspective, belief in our mission, and a passion for making a difference
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Organized and detail-oriented, with effective time-management skills
• Strong work ethic, the ability to follow through, and a willingness to do what needs to be
done, no matter how large or small
• Dependable, self-motivated, and conscientious
• Outgoing and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude
• Professional, prompt, and dresses appropriately
• Must be 18 or older
