Social Media Internship

Thom’s Market is an awesome local Austin treasure. It’s not a convenience store, it’s not a grocery store, but takes the best of both worlds. Thom’s Market is located in the Barton Hills and Travis heights neighborhoods. We have a wide selection of local products, hand-picked fruits and vegetables, awesome gifts, grab-and-go food items, organic products, local baked goods, organic products, local kombuchas— We have it all!

Thom’s Market is looking for a motivated and passionate Social Media Intern to help us leverage social media and drive consumer engagement. We are seeking smart, media-savvy individual who brings energy, new ideas and a fresh perspective to our team.

The ideal Marketing Intern candidate will have:

  • Write and edit content for all Thom’s Market’s social media platforms.
  • Have excellent consulting, writing, text and photo editing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Work with colleagues to help plan and implement social media marketing campaigns that drive and engage traffic.
  • Have graphic design | website design experience.
  • Help to increase social media conversion rates.
  • Manage social media marketing channels, content  and day-to-day activities.
  • Be confident in running  ad campaigns in 2-3 of the following advertising platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Google + and/or other social media outlets.
  • Monitor social media accounts daily,  evenings and/or weekends responding to critical items as needed.

Green Gate Farms/New Farm Institute Fall Internships

New Farm Institute’s (NFI) mission is to educate, assist and inspire a new generation of sustainable farmers in Central Texas. NFI’s initiatives build upon the education and outreach efforts begun in 2006 by the founders of Green Gate Farms, a community-based, certified organic farm with locations in Austin and Bastrop, Texas.

New Farm Institute, a 501(c)3 created in 2012, provides farm-based education including: camps, workshops, and an Incubator Farm. Comprised of farmers, citizens and community activists, NFI is dedicated to engaging people of all ages and abilities in healthy foods and sustainable farming.

Rainforest Partnership Fall Internships

Headquartered in Austin, Rainforest Partnership is an international nonprofit dedicated to the protection of tropical rainforest, a critical factor in the health of our planet. We accomplish our mission by working directly with people of the forests, and in collaboration with others who want to enable that work.

We are looking for project management interns. The project management intern will work with the Director of Projects on the organization’s projects in Latin America.

The intern will be supporting the Director of Projects on the following needs:

  Organize incoming reports and photos from personnel abroad

  Help track project expenditures and activities

  Provide information and assistance to DP in completing required paperwork and

reporting associated with each project (e.g. monthly report, updates, project

implementation summaries)

  Interact with other personnel who are working in Peru, Ecuador as necessary for project related activities

  Research and help develop indicators and a methodology for measuring project success

  Help monitor and ensure the completion of all tasks laid out in the project plan

Skills required:

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  Project management skills or an aptitude for project management

  Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing data

  Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  Resourcefulness and creativity

  Spanish speaking and writing skills will be a bonus

Length:  Flexible

We are looking for interested volunteers/interns grant writers. The grant writer intern will work with the Director of Projects. The roles and responsibilities of the grant writer intern are listed below:

  Primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations in a clear and compelling manner

  With the support of the office staff, the grant writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines

  Should be able to understand and work on budgets for proposals that would fit within the foundation’s funding criteria

Skills required:

  Excellent writing, analytical and research skills

  Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized

  Must have experience using online databases and other sources to locate biographical,

financial, and philanthropic information

  Ability to meet deadlines

Length: Flexible
