- Under the supervision of the Communication Manager, the Communications Intern provides support in the marketing, promotion and publicity of all Skillpoint Alliance programs and initiatives. Specific responsibilities of project oversight will be matched to career interests of intern and may include: Website, Graphic Design, and Social Media.
- Position Description
- The Communications Intern will work closely with the Communications Manager to handle publicity and communications for the youth and adult programs administered by Skillpoint Alliance. This includes social media and press coordinating. Skillpoint staff will work to ensure the Communications Intern gains professional experience, references and a portfolio of work from the position.
- Responsibilities
- Update social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn)
- Draft press releases
- Draft articles for newsletters
- Edit web copy and update information on organization’s website
- Update and maintain media contacts
- Locate opportunities for branding and increasing name awareness
- Other communications/marketing duties as assigned
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Journalism or Communications.

Children of All Nations seeks Interns for the fall
Children of All Nations is a 501(c)3 child welfare organization based in Austin, Texas. We specialize in connecting orphans throughout the world with their forever families through international adoption.
We are currently looking for part-time interns for the Fall semester. We are looking for one who is FLUENT in French to provide support to the case managers of our African and Haitian adoption programs. Responsibilities include: Calling French-speaking staff, government officials, and orphanages in foreign countries to provide program support; translation of French documents to English and vice versa; assisting case managers as necessary to advocate for the adoption of orphaned children abroad.
We are also looking for students who have a background in social work or counseling who can support our case managers with administrative and clerical tasks associated with our adoption case management, dossier processing, and other tasks as assigned.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the intern may also work with the Development Specialist to contact the foreign governments of African countries to explore the possibility of opening adoption or humanitarian aid programs there, researching the programs’ potential for success, help to develop orphan care programs worldwide, and other tasks as assigned. The intern should be available part-time on weekdays between 8:30 am and 4 pm and the schedule is flexible depending on your class schedule.
Students should be a junior or senior in college and preferred candidates will have experience studying abroad or working/communicating with people from other countries.

Fall Internship with The Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
TCADP Intern Job Description
The Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (TCADP) is the only statewide grassroots advocacy organization dedicated solely to ending the death penalty in Texas. TCADP’s Fall 2014 Advocacy Intern will assist with community outreach and public education programs, research and writing, strategic communications, political research, and administrative support. He/she will interact with the Executive Director, as well as other volunteers, TCADP Board Members, and community partners.
Responsibilities:
- Support for public education and outreach programs, including our regional speakers’ tours this fall featuring death row exonorees and other individuals with personal experience with the Texas death penalty system
- Research and writing assignments related to TCADP’s blog and monthly e-newsletter
- Research related to the TCADP year-end report on death penalty developments
- Development of educational materials for print and/or online publication
- Logistical support for the TCADP 2015 Annual Conference, which will take place in February 2015 in Austin
- Administrative support, including data entry, resource inventory, and social media updates
Desired skills/experience:
- Exceptional communication and writing skills (ability to speak and write Spanish is a plus)
- Experience with grassroots/student organizing and community outreach
- Experience with online communication/social networking tools (Facebook, blogs, Twitter, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently
- Interest in working with a non-profit organization
- Personal commitment to abolition of the death penalty
