Center for Child Protection- 3 Internships Available

Direct Service Program Internship (undergraduate)
Program interns act in lead roles by overseeing program/client flow of the children and families on site for forensic, therapy and medical services. Daily activities may also include resource and curriculum development, data entry, front desk support, maintenance of facility readiness and assisting with administrative duties.

Appropriate for motivated, hard-working individuals who wish to develop skills essential to a career in the professional sector with child development, psychology and social work.

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Forensic Services Internship (undergraduate)

Forensic Service Interns responsibilities will include administrative and service delivery tasks related to the forensic interview program. Job duties will include contacting families prior to or at the time of their appointment to complete needed paperwork for the appointment. The intern will work directly with forensic interview staff to supply crucial information prior to the interview with the child. Job duties will include education about the criminal justice system, data entry, scheduling and administrative assistance.

Appropriate for motivated, hard-working individuals who wish to develop skills essential to a career in the professional sector with criminal justice, social work, sociology and child development. Bilingual strongly preferred.

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Education Services Internship (undergraduate and graduate)

Primary internship responsibilities will include administrative and service delivery tasks related to the prevention of abuse and community education. Job duties may include development of community awareness and referral materials, data entry and analysis, training preparation and assistance, and other related research projects.

Appropriate for motivated, hard-working individuals who wish to develop skills essential to a career in the professional sector with adult education, training, presentation skills, and data processing. Interested applicants should demonstrate strong writing, proofreading, time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.

Hours: 10-20 hours per week

CareBOX Program Internships

Description

CareBOX Program is an Austin based nonprofit providing free care supplies to cancer patients to help prevent malnutrition, infections, and injuries from falls.

Our organization is comprised of a team of 4 women acting as Executive Director, Development Director, Director of Operations and Program Coordinator. We rely significantly on volunteers and interns to help us achieve our mission and grow our program to serve an increasing number of Central Texas cancer patients in need. Internship positions offer a great learning opportunity in a start-up nonprofit environment and are critical to aid in the development & success of the CareBOX Program.

Responsibilities

As a start-up non-profit, we appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit & excellent candidates must be self-starters. Interns with the CareBOX Program will have their own specific projects, and will work together, with volunteers & staff alike, to help keep the organization moving in the right direction. All internship positions require flexibility and a willingness to help across the nonprofit, perhaps sometimes outside of designated rolls.

We currently have three internship opportunities open:

1. Program/Operations Intern A wide variety of projects are available, including but not limited to; receiving inventory, packing patient supplies, patient onboarding and communication, participating in third party community events and community research projects,.

2. Development Intern This role will include assisting the Development Director in planning and executing in-house and community engagement opportunities, donor communication and cultivation, and utilizing/updating a donor management system.

3. Social Media/Marketing Interns in this area will work all members of the team to ensure that consistent and ongoing outreach is happening to key CareBOX Program stakeholders (e.g. donors, patients) as well as leveraging ways to increase awareness and engagement among new community members.

Requirements

Applicants must be either currently working towards a degree or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree. We are looking for interns who are passionate, dedicated, hardworking, creative and entrepreneurial minded. Being a detail-oriented, self-starter is a must. CareBOX Program is a fast paced environment with a multitude of opportunities to learn and master a wide range of transferable skills. A candidate who is able to commit 15-20hrs per week is preferred.

Marathon Kids Development Intern- Summer 2017

Marathon Kids Development Intern

Direct Reports to: Development Officer and/or Grants Manager

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: part-time (16-20 hours per week)

OVERVIEW:

Marathon Kids is dedicated to improving the health of children by providing them with the

tools, motivation and support to live happier, healthier lifestyles. So far, Marathon Kids has

transformed the lives of over two million children and as of this year, we have partnered

with Nike to take our youth running program to the next level. Kids everywhere need more

access to physical activity. We are building a sustainable funding model to fuel our growth

and help every kid go the distance.

Marathon Kids is seeking a driven, fast-learning and inventive intern who is passionate about

changing the lives of children and is ready to learn and apply social enterprise, research and

development knowledge to that cause. This internship will provide hands-on experience with a

cutting-edge development team at an innovative nonprofit. You will be mentored by

professionals actively changing the NPO world, gain real-world experience, and fulfill and help

deliver on the promise of the Marathon Kids mission.

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research. Get down and dirty with the ins-and-outs of the nonprofit development world.

Take initiative to learn what you don’t know to help inform stellar work product and

decision-making.

• Track. Get up close and personal with the funding cycles of institutions and individual

donors. Enter and maintain clean constituent data in Salesforce, our CRM. Assist in gift

acknowledgement and donor cultivation.

• Write. Briefs on potential leads, meeting notes, grant reports, proposals, recaps – strong

written skills will be a key contributor to your success.

• Analyze. Hone your critical thinking skills and look deeply at the landscape and materials

in front of you. Synthesize insights from your learning and directly apply them on the go.

• Create. Assist in event planning and collateral production. Bring ideas to life.

• Adapt. We move fast, experiment often, and pivot as soon as we identify a need to

change course. Adaptability and flexibility are critical to this role.

• Engage. Be ready to come to the table with thoughtful questions and big ideas. Be part

of a small, highly productive and dynamic team. Make a lasting impact.
