NASA Paid Summer Internships Available

NASA is still actively recruiting interns for its paid summerinternship program!  Internships are available in a wide variety ofdisciplines including engineering, physics, astronomy, life and earthsciences, and even some business and finance.

Summer 2014 Internship with Multimedia Games

Internship Dates are:  June 2nd to August 15th, 2014.

We are looking for bright and creative Artist interns to work in the Game Development group of Multimedia Games. The position will offer the right candidate invaluable art, production and design experience at a well-established slot machine gaming company. We would prefer a full-time intern, as we have a small staff and therefore rely on our interns to perform a variety of tasks relating to creative development. Art interns will spend a couple weeks learning MGAM’s game development process by shadowing art directors and artists. Interns will attend design and milestone meetings and be given tutorials to build illustration, animation, and production skills.
Required experience:

  • Candidate must demonstrate an advanced level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  •  Traditional art training in realistic illustration style, cartooning, background art, and typography is preferred.
  • Experience with GUI design
  • Adobe After Effects, Flash, Anime Studio, Particle Illusion and 3D skills a plus.
  • We work on PCs.

Required Skills:

  • Requires experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects
  • Knowledge of game animation.  Ability to create realistic digital animations and illustrations.  Skill, knowledge and understanding of multimedia design, production and implementation.
  • Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction, work within deadlines, switch priorities on a dime, and have an eye for details.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with artists and programmers.

Austin Resource Recovery Seeking Research Analyst Intern – Deadline 2/7

Austin Resource Recovery is hiring a research analyst intern. Work for a fun and dynamic City department helping us promote Zero Waste and recycling. Gain real‐world experience supporting a team working on policy and ordinance development projects.

DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience working productively in a collaborative, team‐oriented environment
-Good analytical and strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to relate to a variety of
individuals
-Ability to analyze and communicate information in numerical and narrative form
-Coordinate meetings with targeted audiences, such as committees, consultants, citizen’s groups, etc.
-Research best practices and ordinances from around the country (zero waste topics)
-Edit technical reports to provide a summary of findings
-Edit presentations and design ancillary graphics to enhance reporting
-Meet with members of the public, consultants, business owners and other city officials to respond to
questions that are relevant to Zero Waste
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines
-Intermediate word processes, spreadsheet, and presentation software experience (MS Office preferred).
-Skill in planning and organizing
-Knowledge of city practice, policy and procedures
-Ability to explain and enforce City policies
-Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees and the public
-Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major coursework in Environmental
Science, Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Science or related field.

COMPENSATION:
This position is posted for $12/hour to be filled as soon as possible and continue through early
September 2014 for 40 hours per week. End date and hours per week is flexible. Office is located at 1520
Rutherford Lane, Austin, TX 78754.
