Texas Student Media Seeks Digital Interns – Apply by 11/26

The Texas Student Media digital team has responded to the radical shifts happening in the news and media industries by expanding its digital advertising offerings, which has to historically been limited to banner ads, to new, engaging and sponsorable platforms.

Join the TSM digital team as they help shape the digital future of all the TSM properties. They need talented UT students to help fill the following internship positions:

1-2 Digital Media Coordinators
– Help set up and creatively expand on the new and old advertising platforms like traditional banner ads, the Daily Digest, Social Giveaway Contests and Sponsored content
-Work with team members and coordinate advertising platforms to unite all of the TSM properties like the Daily Texan, KVRX and Texas Travesty
-Make sure content on the advertising platforms are streamlined and segmented to the right audience

1-2 Digital Advertising Coordinators
– Work with the TSM sales team to reach out and nurture prospective advertisers and generate revenue among all the TSM’s digital advertising platforms
– Investigate new advertising client opportunities with tools like Reference USA
– Use digital data statistics to appeal to and encourage advertisers to invest in TSM’s media and report on how their campaigns are doing

1-3 Digital Inbound Marketers
– Build Traffic to TSM sites using the latest SEO, link building, Social Media and other digital marketing tactics
– Analyze analytic platforms like Google Analytics to and report interesting insights that will help increase and retain traffic flow
– Make sure that the traffic is going to desired sections on of TSM sites and converting into Daily Digest and advertising leads
– Work with TSM and Daily Texan developers to implement inbound marketing strategies

East Side Compost Pedallers Spring Internships – Apply by 12/1

Intern With The Pedallers!

The East Side Compost Pedallers is a 100% bike-powered compost recycling program that collects compostables from east side homes and businesses and pedal them directly to nearby urban farms and community gardens to grow more local food for our community.  Our mission is to build a more vibrant Austin community by reducing waste, strengthening our local food system, and re-connecting neighbors to each other and the places that they live through more sustainable practices. All without burning a single drop of fossil fuel!

These internships offer great opportunities to gain real world work experience and skills while working with a passionate start up on the cutting edge of social entrepreneurship in Austin, TX.

Community Outreach Intern

Umlauf Scuplture Garden & Museum Seeking Spring Outreach Intern – Apply by 12/2

The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum seeks a career-minded individual for an education outreach internship to develop learning programs for youth in the community. The candidate should be an art or art education major looking for programming experience in a nonprofit setting.The Outreach programs internship is a collaborative position that requires strong writing, research skills, and the ability to multitask in a small nonprofit environment. Knowledge of sculpture and experience working in a museum is desirable.
Hours: 10 hours a week, Wednesday- Friday (flexible)
Compensation: $500 stipend
Start date: 1/6/14
Responsibilities:
·       Assist with scheduling of workshops.
·       Facilitate tours and lead workshops.
·       Assist Umlauf staff with general administration office duties and front desk.
Qualifications:
• Creative thinker
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple activities and projects simultaneously.
• Experience with or interest in youth programming
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends for education events
• Basic understanding of the web, use of web services and low-level web technologies
