Summer and Fall 2025 Internships: Children’s Advocacy Center

The Children’s Advocacy Center is currently interviewing for 4 internship spots with our family advocacy program. The Children’s Advocacy Center serving Bastrop, Lee, and Fayette counties works to provide the best opportunities for our interns. Our internship program caters to various undergraduate degrees such as criminal justice, psychology, social work, child/family development, sociology, and applied sociology and Masters degrees in social work and professional counseling. Family Advocate intern’s tasks entails a variety of learning opportunities such as working with caretakers and families during crisis during forensic interviews, case management, providing and helping families locate resources, groups (therapeutic, parenting, coping skills and more), and working closely with our multidisciplinary teams such as law enforcement and child protective services for better wrap around services.
Professional counseling and social work students have weekly supervision with our on staff LPC-S and LMSW. All family advocate interns are also engaged in weekly supervision with their task supervisor and also in mid and final semester reviews. We ask that interns spend a minimum of 16 hours a week at the CAC. Internships are completed per semester, are available spring, summer, and fall semesters and the amount of semesters and hours completed with the CAC are catered to each individual’s needs.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of our operations, including sourcing and recruitment, community engagement, content creation, data management, and support for digital marketing and administrative tasks. The role will focus on managing our company database, maintaining our social media presence, supporting IT-related initiatives, and assisting with sourcing top talent. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for learning and a desire to contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Recruitment:

  • Sourcing Alignment: Collaborate with consultants to ensure sourcing activities align with client needs.
  • Channel Identification: Determine optimal channels and strategies for sourcing candidates matching client requirements.
  • Channel Optimization: Develop and optimize various sourcing channels to enhance talent pool quantity and quality.
  • Effectiveness Monitoring: Measure and track the success of the strategic sourcing framework against predefined outcomes.
  • Employee Value Proposition: Help clients define and develop a compelling employee value proposition and integrate it into the sourcing strategy.
  • Media Utilization: Identify, secure, and use relevant media and communication channels for sourcing.
  • Candidate Relationship Management: Develop and utilize strategies to build strong relationships with passive candidates.
  • Sourcing Strategy Framework: Lead the creation of client sourcing strategies, including gathering competitive intelligence, developing targeted platforms, researching competing companies, and creating talent maps.
  • Idea Generation: Partner with consultants to share information and generate ideas for effective searches.
  • Customer Service: Provide responsive and proactive customer service through various communication channels.
  • Support and Coaching: Offer support, advice, and coaching to colleagues.

Project and Task Management:

  • Project Development: Assist in the development and execution of projects and assigned tasks.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative duties as needed.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of various tasks using relevant tools
  • SOP Projects: Participate in SOP projects and IT-related initiatives, such as website updates and maintenance.

Social Media Management:

  • Content Maintenance: Maintain and enhance our social media channels to ensure a consistent and engaging content flow.
  • Content Creation: Create engaging content for websites and LinkedIn, including job and leadership articles.
  • Digital Marketing Support: Support digital marketing efforts on LinkedIn, including creating job posters and company announcements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to create materials for social media exposure.
  • Engagement Initiatives: Support community engagement initiatives through various channels.
  • Event Support: Provide support for organizing and facilitating networking events.

CRM and Data Management:

  • CRM Database Management: Manage and update data in our CRM database.
  • Database Accuracy: Manage and update the company database, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Data Management Support: Assist with data management tasks to support increased database activity.

Research and Reporting:

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Report Preparation: Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Native level Japanese + business level English
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic database management.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work collaboratively.
  • Interest in IT and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and content management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and a positive attitude.
