Internship with The Dime Club

We are seeking a software engineering intern to support development and maintenance of a networking mobile app and the server infrastructure to support it. Depending on skills, experience, and interests, job duties may include iOS/Android UI development, RESTful service development, cloud server infrastructure development and support, or business systems integration.

We have 2 positions for our small team for the spring 2016 semester.

Desired Skills

• Proficiency in Objective C, Java, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript

• Proficient in basic CS concepts such as data structures and object-oriented design.

• Comfortable working in a team environment, asking questions, and ability to work independently when necessary

• Good interpersonal skills

• Junior or Senior level Computer Science (or related degree) students

• Ability to commit to minimum 10 hours per week

Please note that this is an unpaid internship. We will provide any necessary documentation the selected candidates require to receive course credit for the internship, as well as letters of recommendation to be used for graduate schools or future employment opportunities.

The Dime Club is a mobile app company that has built a digital community of next generation leaders who connect with each other via mobile app. Users of the app are social, tech-savvy young professionals who show ambition and like to be around other like-minded individuals.

Spring Internship with EcoRise

EcoRise Youth Innovations inspires a new generation of leaders to design a sustainable future for all. Our school based program empowers youth to tackle real-world challenges in their schools and communities by teaching environmental literacy, social innovation and hands-on design skills.

SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING INTERNS

EcoRise teachers, students, and partners are changing our world for the better and their stories need to be shared. EcoRise seeks extremely creative, motivated college students interested in gaining valuable experience in social entrepreneurship, marketing, design, and social media strategy.

STORYTELLING: Use video and photography to create new content featuring EcoRise students, teachers, and partners.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Assist with the creation, documentation, and management of company-wide social media strategy. Maintain editorial calendar, creating and posting daily / weekly content for the targeted social media platforms.

MARKETING: Work with staff and board of directors to promote the EcoRise voice and brand. Update existing marketing information and create internal documents to establish organizational consistency.

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
+ Convey compelling messages, both in person and in writing
+ Generate creative ideas that align with brand strategies
+ Familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Other social media platform experience a plus
+ Understanding of WordPress, HTML, video editing software, and the Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) a plus
+ Demonstrate initiative and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, communicate progress, and collaborate with others
+ Working towards BA/BS degree (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or other related majors preferred)
+ Available to work 10-15 hours per week, beginning in January through May (full-year internship options available). Interns will receive a stipend and can pursue course credit.

Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week, beginning in January. This is a paid contract position and student applicants can pursue course credit.

Position:

Marketing Intern

Description:

We’re seeking an engaged, ambitious learner with a strong work ethic to dive into all things Marketing and Market Research, providing support to and learning directly from the CEO. This is a rare opportunity to apply your creative and problem solving abilities to 1) conduct market research to learn directly about and from potential consumers, and 2) conceptualize, plan, and execute your own guerrilla marketing campaign for a real B2C brand and service.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the necessary tenacity to get things done, including figuring out how to get those things done, regardless of the circumstances.

While the hours may be flexible, a commitment of at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks is desired.

If you have interest in entrepreneurship, (real, unglamorized) startup culture, small business operations, or any form of highly autonomous employment, this is a great opportunity to learn from professionals that have experience with a multitude of facets thereof.

Responsibilities

  • Design Instrument or Method for Soliciting Consumer Input and Conducting Market Research
  • Developing and Managing a Guerrilla Marketing Campaign – both to promote conversion and to

    perpetually learn about and from consumers

  • Design and Production of Marketing Resources and Collateral for the Marketing Campaign
  • Execution of the Marketing Campaign
